Great bar with a chill ohana type of vibe (except Thursday's, which is college night.... self-explanatory, but every bars gotta have one because $$$ 😆)! The regulars and staff are very friendly and welcoming to new people. It's a nice mixed crowd from all walks of life. If you play pool, don't be afraid to jump in on a game, they seem to love having new people to play with. They have some super cool bartenders. Monday nights has the coolest bartender who's always smiling and makes my drinks to perfection every time, other nights there's a cute blonde bartender who is so sweet and likes to test out new concoctions, a fun chatty brunette with good drink suggestions, and a new bartender with a nose ring who has a chill vibe but it always looking out for everyone and even the cars parked on the street (one night he was asking around because he saw that a car alarm was going off to see if it belonged to any patrons). Security is pretty cool too. They are friendly, personable, and approachable but they take no crap and are on top of it. I always see the female security walking around, helping out, making sure everone is ok and helping clean up. This is the kind of bar that cares because I've also noticed, on a few occasions, them helping people get a cab home, letting someone leave their motorcycle parked outside when they didn't feel safe driving home, and helping a female who came in a bit too drunk get out safely. It's nice to know that bars like Anna's, while they may be RARE,...

Update April 2023: Okay, I'm still the guy playing guitar in the picture. I have made several new friends who appreciate many different kinds of music. Lots of great musicians play there, sit in with others or host open mics.
The staff are friendly and always helpful. It has an upstairs and downstairs, so whether you want to enjoy a quiet drink and watch sports or shoot pool, or take in live music or comedy, they'll take care of...
Read moreHOMOPHOBIC OWNERS!
I would caution anyone from going here. It was already a struggling bar with a poor reputation. The other day my friends were leaving and the two white owners were jeering at us when we left. They told my gay friends they didn’t need “you bottoms here anyways” and called me a degenerate. Such blatant homophobia and disrespect is not how you ingratiate yourself in Hawaii. Our community is about respect.
For the college crowd, be careful to support such hateful bars. This type of blatant hate and ignorance is not the vibe for our crowd. They should create a welcoming culture for all, not one that openly mocks our gay brothers...
