South Shore Grill — Restaurant in Honolulu

Came here for lunch with my friend who suggested it. I'm always up for trying someplace new and boy this was a great decision made on his behalf!

I wanted fish tacos and kalbi so I decided to go with the mixed platter which came with a fish taco, kalbi, and chicken, along with hapa rice (mmmm hapa ;-)) slaw and tuna mac salad. Perfect meal for lunch to enjoy over great conversations with good friends.

Fish taco was by far my favorite of the three items. Perfectly cooked, tender and well-seasoned. Tortilla was soft which is how it should be. The kalbi was a bit thicker cut and not to my liking, flavor lacked but wasn't too bad. Chicken was tender and tasty.

I had also ordered the chips and salsa, which I learned that they fried their chips to order so be careful! It's hot on the first bite! haha.

Parking is street parking, which is easy to find but can be busy during lunch hour!

My friend recommended this restaurant. He said it's the best fish tacos in town, so we had to go. My bf tried to order one of the signature burgers but the cashier said he didn't want to make him that burger because that's what makes the burger. Ok fine. Sorry I can't customize your signature burger to my liking. So he tries to order the Incinerator burger. The cashier says no order a different one. That one is too hot. That it's really insulting. 😤How do you know whether he likes spicy food or not? I intervene and says, he loves hot food. 😑

Needless to say, my bf orders the Three's. The bread was really hard and he said it wasn't worth it. Moral of the story don't order a burger from a fish tacos place. 🐟🌮

Walked in and placed an order for food around 6:55pm. Knew the place was extremely busy and was more than willing to wait. 7:25 rolls around and I’m still waiting for my order after I watch several guests order and recieve their food. I inquire about my order and they obviously can’t find it. They then find the slip on the floor and put it up like nothing happened and give an inappropriate apology that they’re really busy. I’m floored and ask for a refund which was promptly given and I walk out.

I’ve been dining here for several years and I’ve never had something like this happen. While the food is absolutely delicious, the customer service, tonight especially, is abysmal. You would have thought they would have rushed the order or offered some form of appropriate apology. I have no intention of returning...
