First timers here. My friend and I ordered our beverages but the barista was obviously not feeling the love during his shift. He was not very kind. As a customer, when you didn't understand what was asked of you, you wanted it repeated. The barista seemed frustrated that when he repeated himself, he talked to us like toddlers: sloooow and with emphasis each word using exaggerated lip movements. Man, we speak your language!!! My friend and I just laughed it off about this experience but it was really a bad PR. Our bad experience translated into bad tasting ultra sweet beverages but because we wanted to sit down and enjoy the AC inside the store, we lingered. Not coming back to this Starbucks location.

Starbucks at Ala Moana Hotel Mantra: Spacious and airy with many 1-person, 2-person and multi-party tables (these have multi charging outlets). 7-day wifi provided by the hotel. Baristas: Gilbert, Lynea. Kudos to Lynea, who made my machiatto doppio, 2% milk, topped by blonde roast. As it is part of a hotel, Starbucks rewards not honored here.

Not so good latte and acceptable service. The sitting area was huge, but very few tables? Huh? People just stood in the middle waiting or having their coffees standing up. The best thing here? It sells chocolate that looked a lot like Target’s famous terrier. Also, this place was using paper lids. A small win for our environment.

Crazy people coming off the street security is like fort Knox because Hawaii secretly has the worst homeless problem in the USA, most all severely mentally ill, and or severe substance abuse issue causing loss of mental abilities and touch with reality speed is done and treated like no big deal, as weed is in southern California, like Venice Beach. Now it makes sense that all but 3 hotels are surrounded by the alawaii river that's like a moat around all the nice hotels keeping non tourists out of the Waikiki Beach Bubble they control with 5 bridge entry points they keep a sharp eye on who walks in to Waikiki, even with that, I almost lost my thumb at 7am-ish walking from my hotel by one of the bridges and someone attempted to cut my cellphone out of my hand with a razor blade almost taking my thumb completely off, thanks to an Australian family ripping a shirt sleeve making a tourniquet that ended up saving a ton of blood, and enabled me to open my backpack pour 91% ALC. & superglue the skin back together as best as possible before professional help was able to assist. Don't expect the local you know who... To find anyone responsible for things like this, as usual or they just don't official paperwork with people that did these things adding up to a massive number that would make LA not look so bad, just like they didn't care much or even bother getting video footage from my mother's iPhone stolen at Nordstrom 4 hours after arriving here from CA and less than 1 hour after buying the latest iPhone pro. Waikiki has to look safe, like Disney land or whatever. Tourism is what makes the world go around for the economy in Hawaii... Why not take care of the problems, not build pointless train/trams things, not letting the amazing Hawaii SuperFerry to operate. Not over Marine life but over the companies that are established using tug boats for cargo, planes for passengers causing much more ecologic damage than 100 SuperFerrys . The rest of the world uses the same ferrys to transport all over the world, it's rude to whales to say they are too stupid to avoid a ferry that skim right over the water with a shallow draft and jet drives, unlike The huge props under tugs burning tons more fuel per ton/mile. Hawaii is going to get overlooked for other destinations more than already, companies don't want to risk money here to have a change of heart probably because of additional zeros added to their bank account balance, the decision makers take the side of the company with outdated methods , using antiquated equipment, know they can't compete with this new natural advance in progress that should have been done decades sooner, after the deal is done, hundreds of millions spent the project is built and ready to go. The progressive Democrat super majority, don't feel so progressive and agree or make up bogus reasons why they don't want these cutting edge, best 2 drive on drive off, fast ferries to finally connect all of Hawaii any island chain, or ferry utilizing territory would be extremely jealous of... Hawaii says... yeah,,, Thanks buttttt NooooThanks... 😁....

They are super nice in this Starbucks, they dont make you feel guilty because you don't know their Starbucks's lingo. Your voice doesn't have to shake when you say small, medium or large and one time they grind a bag of coffee for me and that was awesome. ☮ like awesome!!!

I still think Starbucks over prices everything and I don't know if they are contributing for the development of 3rd world countries by paying the coffee farmers what is worth or they are just taking advantage of the lack of regulations in 3rd world countries, like how they take advantage of the lack of regulations of 3rd world countries to give different treatment to their workers depending on the country. Like ALSEA group in Mexico. Also I don't like the fact that in some Starbucks they rather throw away everything at the end of the day than give it away to homeless or something.

A side from that, I love the coffee. Cause they do have good coffee. Am I ever going to stop feeling guilty for living in a capitalistic society that works from wanting excess from a system that works in...
