Edit* I thought the staff was super sweet here. I ordered the açaí bowl and my wife ordered the sunrise bowl. I got the pineapple on mine instead of the banana and was definitely the right call. I may have ordered too much, as I ordered the large. Also, the açaí wasn’t as sweet as I’ve had at other spots… I think this might be because they blend fruit with the açaí. This wasn’t my favorite way to do it. I also do think the prices are a little too steep here. While the ingredients do taste fresh, they taste just as fresh off the main strip, so as a local guide, I wouldn’t recommend this spot unless you’re strictly looking for location.
There’s not much room in the restaurant to sit down, so I’d plan to take it somewhere to enjoy. The restaurant can get somewhat crowded, but I didn’t find that to affect the wait in order too much. All things considered, I enjoyed this spot. It has great location. I’d love to see the ad-one come down to $.50 and would prefer it if the blueberries came standard with the açaí bowl. Also, would love to see an option for açaí bowls that aren’t watered down with other...
Read moreI really wanted to love this place, especially since I was so excited to try an açaí bowl in Hawaii. Unfortunately, it ended up being one of the worst açaí bowls I’ve ever had. I’m giving it two stars because the staff was friendly, and the place was clean, so it wasn’t a disaster in that regard. But when it comes to the food, I’m disappointed.
The texture of the açaí bowl was completely off. It was like it had been made earlier, melted, refrozen, and then served. You know that icy, gritty texture you get when something melts and is refrozen? That’s exactly what it was like. I had high hopes for a smooth, creamy bowl, but instead, it was more like a slushy mess.
Honestly, I regret not waiting in the longer line at Island Vintage. Now I know why it had the crowd (I’ve had it before). I really wanted to love this, but sadly, I left feeling let down. Would not recommend unless you’re just looking for a quick snack and don’t mind...
Read moreI recently visited Sunrise Shack at Ala Moana Mall, and I have to say, their açaí bowl was absolutely incredible! From the first bite, you can tell they use only the freshest ingredients. The açaí was perfectly blended, smooth, and packed with flavor. Topped with a delicious mix of granola, coconut flakes, fresh fruit, and a drizzle of honey, it was the ultimate tropical treat. The portion size was generous, and it felt like the perfect balance of sweet and refreshing. Plus, the atmosphere of the Shack itself was super laid-back and inviting, which made the experience even better. Highly recommend this spot for anyone craving a healthy and delicious snack while shopping in Ala Moana! Five stars...
