Zippy's McCully — Restaurant in Honolulu

Food is good but the usher at night, an older Filipino man is extremely rude! I've seen him body shame people by telling them they have to wait longer cause "the booth that moves (to allow for bigger ppl to have more room between the seat and table), someone is sitting in it"!!! These ppl are normal size locals!!! And there is only 1 booth that does that, so if all the tables with chairs or if you ask for a booth is full he will make you wait and not allow you to sit anywhere else cause he thinks you are too fat to fit! Once We came twice in a months time and he made nasty comments as he was sitting us! Saying "no good come here, you'll get FATTER" Don't even bother getting food from the front! 5 workers standing around not wanting to help anyone, even if you ask for help they just stare at you like you're stupid for bothering them and how dare you for walking up and asking for help. They will stare at you and walk away without saying a word! This happens whenever we go and we have seen ppl yell at them for help, they really don't care... While waiting for food once we watched a female worker have a full convo with her boyfriend on the phone for 30mins, cracking up so loud in front of everyone. I walked over and asked for help she looked at me and told me she's taking a phone order! Plus the food they give you for take out is so little bit!!! Compared to the other Zippys. It's just better to dine in BUT get the male servers though, the females always somehow vanish during their shifts and don't return until they hand you the check! The male servers have to pick up their slack! As for the bakery... This Zippys specializes in making mini Donuts and charging you full price!!! They are a quarter of the size then every other Zippys but they charge you normal price!!! I was so shocked when I saw a Danish donut 1 inch long an inch wide for $2.15!!! How are they allowed to get away...

Completely DISAPPOINTED!! Won't be returning here at all!! The food was completely bland! My husband & I ordered the Belgian Waffle 🧇 Combo. After 5+ mins later, the waiter returned to inform us their waffle maker was broken & they could do pancakes 🥞 or French toast. We both chose French toast. DISAPPOINTED!! French toast had ZERO flavor & was just bread and bland bread at that. The egg was slimy whites as the cook wasn't experienced enough to get it right. The corn beef hash had almost no flavor & I've NEVER tasted any in my lifetime that lacked flavor. Guess it's a first time for everything. In addition my husband ordered the oxtail soup. It was good he says & I took a small portion of his off top but mines was consumed with the bitter cilantro flavor & wasn't tolerable and I love cilantro but not when it completely takes over. Nothing compared to Jamaican oxtail so don't expect that at all! My husband's egg was supposed to be scrambled & it was a folded egg with non melted cheese packed inside like a hotel does at breakfast. We both were told our meals came with the 2 eggs as we were trying to understand the menu but it came with one egg so we both ordered a side of egg which was $2.70 each. Nothing was flavorful at all except Kevin, the waiter's energy. And that's the ONLY reason I'm giving 2 🌟!! Wayyyy, overpriced!! Will never return here. There's too many other options of good food. Guess we picked the wrong choice...

The food tastes just as good as other zippys. Tonight we decided to sit on the restaurant side just because we felt like being served. Maybe we were the unlucky ones coming in at the wrong time but when we walked in we weren't greeted or acknowledged and was left standing there for 5 minutes. When someone finally comes to the stand he continues to ignore us and go about his business. (I understand that when it's busy in a restaurant, you just need to think and focus on what you're doing or you just might forget.) The least he could've done was say: 'Hi, we'll be right with you folks.' When we finally get seated our server greeted us and said she would be right with us. (Yay, she acknowledged us.) But we waited for a while, and I then heard someone say 'Shoot, I forgot about this table!' She came ready to take our order but didn't apologize for the wait. Throughout our dinner there she continued to forget not just our table but other tables. She may have had too many tables to worry about but the guests shouldn't have to suffer on theyre account.
