Jack in the Box — Restaurant in Houston

As someone who works the overnight shift, I often rely on quick and convenient dining options during my lunch break. For over a year, the Jack-in-the-Box on San Felipe has been my go-to choice, sometimes multiple times per week. The convenience and speed have made it a staple in my routine—until tonight.

What happened tonight was different and frankly, unacceptable. With the weather being particularly hot, I decided to add a simple cup of ice to my order. To my shock, I was told that this would cost $3.50. Yes, $3.50 for a Styrofoam cup and some ice.

This pricing is not just surprising; it’s absurd. To put this in perspective, this is more expensive than some of the items on your value menu! I understand that businesses have costs, but charging a customer $3.50 for a cup of ice feels like a deliberate attempt to take advantage of your patrons.

Given that I have been a loyal customer at this location for over a year, this encounter has left a sour taste in my mouth—quite literally. Sadly, tonight will be my last visit.

Slow cashier, waited in line about 10mins and then left, it didnt seem like line was moving and was super packed fr ok m construction workers from across the street. They cant seem to handle crowds well at all. Update 2/14 I went here since only fast food around, quick service, only thing I asked for a combo for the price listed on board and 3 egg rolls, they upcharge me for a medium which wasn't the price on board. This is ridiculous how they want to just charge you more to make an extra few cents maybe a dollar and not even ask if y u u want a bigger size. I really didnt feel like arguing with them as I was hungry and not in the mood.. and also they didnt give my sweet and sour sauce when they gave me my order and then when I got back up and went to the cashier and asked for the sweet and sour she said it was 27cents extra.. The cashier Aberdeen was extremely rude and provided me terrible customer service. When I was ordering through the drive through he rushed me, did not listen to my order well, and then when he was reading it back and I asked for him to repeat it because I could not hear him he still spoke too fast and interrupted the woman that was trying to assist since he was being so short and rushing. I did not get to see the screen either to double check if my order was right and he replied with “just pull up to the second window”. When I pulled up he only told me the price and I had to remind him that I did not get to verify my order was right. When I stated that he pointed at me with finger in the manner of asking me to hold on and ignored me and proceeded to take the next customer order.
