My sister and I had an horrible experience at the bar on April I spoke with the manager and email the general manager and go no response this is what I sent and what happened. Follow-Up on Disappointing Incident at the Bar – April 30
Dear Chris,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to bring to your attention a disappointing and embarrassing experience I had during my recent visit to Josephine’s Gulf Coast Restaurant on Wednesday, April 30, between 5:00 PM and 9:00 PM.
As a regular customer who has always enjoyed the food and atmosphere—especially the crawfish—I was disheartened by the poor customer service I received from the bar staff that evening. While watching the Rockets game at the bar, I ordered four drinks in total. However, when the bill arrived, I was charged for six. I calmly addressed the discrepancy with the bartender, explaining that I had only been served four drinks. Instead of engaging respectfully, he insisted I had six and refused to consider my concern.
When I asked if he could review the cameras or involve a manager, he walked away and returned shortly, stating the cameras were unavailable, but he “knew for a fact” I had six drinks. He then curtly tossed the revised bill on the bar, saying he was only charging me for four, and walked off without another word. His dismissive and accusatory tone was deeply embarrassing, especially in a public setting.
I immediately requested to speak with the manager, Eric, who was gracious and apologetic. He explained that the camera system had restarted and was temporarily inaccessible. He ultimately removed an additional drink from the bill—though that was not my goal. What I am asking for is a full review of the camera footage by management and the bartender involved, as well as a direct apology from the bartender for the public embarrassment and lack of professionalism displayed that night.
Eric provided me with your contact information and encouraged me to reach out. Due to travel, I wasn’t able to do so immediately, but I have since returned and revisited the restaurant, where I again spoke with Eric. He assured me he would pass along the details and that following up with you directly was the best course of action.
I truly enjoy dining at Josephine’s, and I hope this situation can be addressed appropriately so that I—and other guests—can continue to enjoy the welcoming and respectful environment your restaurant has always provided in the past.
Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. I look forward to hearing from...
Read moreAbsolutely delicious food! Josephine’s is a unique new spot that pays tribute to the gulf coast through their food, decor, and ambiance. Each dish is unique in its flavor. A few of the dishes have flavor combinations that one would never think of to put together and Josephine’s has done it exquisitely! Alright, let’s break down the things I got that made me fall in love with this place:
-Chicken on a stick: y’all, the the acidity from the pickle brine and that sauce. Fried to perfection. Enough said. -Biscuits: okay, the buttery goodness that were these biscuits. They were one of my fav things on the menu and I could eat a whole basket myself. -Hushpuppies: Soft, crispy, salty deliciousness -Pea Salad: a cool, elevated twist on a classic recipe! You basically eat these like lettuce wraps, putting the pea salad filling in the lettuce. I loved that this wasn’t overly mayo-ey Smoked redfish dip: Another great example of thoughtfulness behind flavors and textures. The seasoning on the saltines is divine. Roasted oysters: okay admittedly I’m not a huge fan of oysters but I do love a roasted oyster doused in butter and flavor. So good with the fresh bread they serve with it! BBQ shrimp: this sauce is something of beauty. Another top item that you cannot miss. Eat the shrimp and then drink or dunk the bread in the sauce.
Main dishes: Shrimp and grits: you cannot miss this. And elevated take on a classic gulf coast dish. Blue crab rice bowl: for people who love straight rice, this is for you. The crab is not too overpowering and the aioli adds some creaminess to the dish.
Sides: Crispy Brussels: a perfect mixture of sweet and spicy Red Beans and Rice: highly recommend!
Dessert: This is a place where you should get dessert. Our waiter (Brett - the dude w cool tats) explained the vision and rationale behind each dessert making it on the menu.
Corn flan: I loved the texture of this flan, it’s a bit thicker and the fruity compote is a perfect complement
Mississippi mud jar: chocolate lovers, look no further. Smooth and creamy goodness
Canlas con leche- basically, fried rice fritters rolled in cinnamon sugar and dunked/bathed in the condensed milk. Mouth watering as I write this.
Hats off to you, Josephines!...
Read moreI really hate I have to leave a review like this because I actually enjoyed this place. This was my second visit here at Josephine’s. Unfortunately, the bartender with the tattoos named Will made both experiences pretty uncomfortable. The first one wasn’t as terrible. He is pretty obnoxious, but fortunately for me I didn’t deal with him as my bartender the first time. This second time however, the bartender I did have who is named Max was amazing, very attentive, and also offered suggestions when it came to food as well as drinks. There was a time when Max was not available, and I asked the only other bartender behind the bar which was Will for napkins. He decided to tell me I already have a napkin, referring to the linen napkin, and I told him “ I’d like the paper napkins” and he rudely said to me “well you need to say the black napkins if not you gone wait!”. I was so confused because I had only been to Josephine‘s one other time besides today, but I know a place as nice as Josephine’s would not condone this type of attitude towards paying customers. If you all do decide to go to Josephine’s because the food was amazing the drinks were good and the bartender Max was awesome. Just make sure that you steer clear of the bartender Will. Hopefully management can talk to their employee and get him on one accord with the rest of the staff at Josephine‘s because I haven’t had any issues with anybody else from the very first time he was the guy that was really rude and obnoxious but again my encounter with him was extremely limited, but today I felt terrible leaving that place. I honestly feel like I would never come back. I really hate to give you guys a low rating, but the way that I felt after spending money at this establishment and then being talked down to by an employee for just simply asking for napkins was terrible but the food was good and again shout out to Max because you...
