On Thursday March 3, 2011 my wife and I were at the downtown location for Dr Heuszel Dentist office having our annual tooth exam. Afterwards, we decide to eat and were intrigue at the variety of restaurants in the tunnel system below the JP Morgan Chase Tower. Glazing down the narrow glass walls that fill each side of the restaurants we decide the Maggie Rita’s Tex Mex Bar & Grill look very inviting. The hostess was very accommodating when my wife asked if they served her favorite dish. The basket of chips that was brought to our table with the red and green sauce was warm and thick. Then the waitress arrived to take our order her name is Claudia. My wife order Queso Flameado with beef fajitas and I order the La Chimichanga with both the chile con queso on one side and chile con carne on the other. The tortillas had that homemade taste which is very rare at most Mexican places that we have eaten at in the past. The fajitas were not salty, fatty or have any MSG from what we could tell. My plate was delicious too and we were very happy with not only the waitress but how well the bus boy cleaned our table as we finished our plates. For desert we had Tre Leches that had a very pleasant taste and was a prefect size to split. Even though they have specials for $5 we decide to order off the main menu and left full...
Read moreI very much enjoyed eating at Maggie Rita's. The food was excellent! It was very tasty and inexpensive There is a wide variety of authentic Mexican food on the menue , and I encourage you to try them all. Maggie Rita's offers a number of takeaway lunch specials everyday, and you can call to find out what they are and place an order for pickup. Thier take away specials are generous in portions and a very good value The dinning room is open for sit down meals, and the service is exceptional - even in this age of COVID 19 My waitress, Sarah, was attentive and always accommodating and very friendly. I thought that the ambience of the restaurant was very pleasant, the kind of place you would feel comfortable taking a business associate or a close relation to lunch. Also I was surprised to find out that there is free Wi-Fi available to customers, which is very nice. Please be aware that there is no access to a restroom or a sink to wash your hands in the restaurant, you have to use the buildings lavatory, for which you must have an access card. Most inconvenient. I strongly recommend this restauran to anyone who would like to eat good Mexican food in a pleasant environment with good service at an inexpensive price, in the...
Read more👍 The restaurant is conveniently located under the Chase Tower, right in a busy area, making it perfect for people-watching while enjoying lunch. 👎 During our first visit, it wasn’t busy, yet we were left ungreeted at the entrance for several minutes. We ended up deciding to leave and go to Otto's instead. 👍 On our second visit, we were greeted right away and immediately seated. 👍 The food ranges in price, with Tex-Mex favorites starting around $11, and options for middle management that go above $70 per plate. 👎 Unfortunately, the chalupa was bland and needed sauce. The crispy beef taco was bland as well; I was surprised it didn’t come with sour cream (if Taco Bell can do it, surely this restaurant can too). ⚠️ After a couple of bites, I noticed the ground beef in my taco was undercooked and visibly pink (see picture). This made me hesitant to try the enchilada. 👎 Our waiter didn’t check on us again until it was time for the check, which we had to wait a long time for. 👍 On a positive note, my friend ordered the "Nacho Loco" appetizer and said...
