I had the pleasure of dining at Snooze, an A.M. Eatery on Westheimer in HTOWN, and what a delightful experience it was! My son and daughter treated me to breakfast before a volleyball game, and it turned out to be quite the treat indeed. What's even better, I discovered that there are Snooze locations in Austin, so it looks like I'll be exploring their offerings there as well.
For my breakfast, I opted for the Tacos, and they were a burst of flavor and creativity. Three fresh corn tortillas were generously topped with fluffy scrambled cage-free eggs, perfectly crispy hash browns, jack cheese, house-made green chile hollandaise, and pico de gallo. The combination was simply amazing, and the homemade green chile sauce took the tacos to a whole new level. The eggs were cooked to perfection, and the presentation of the food, in general, was not just delicious but also charming.
To add to the breakfast joy, my son and daughter ordered the signature Pancake Flight, featuring a combination of three of Snooze's most popular flight-sized pancakes. I had the chance to taste them, and let me tell you, those pancakes made me want to do a happy dance right there. They were light, fluffy, and simply delicious. The variety of flavors, including Pineapple Upside Down, Blueberry Danish, and Pumpkin Pecan, was a delightful surprise.
Our dining experience was made even better by the excellent service we received. The host was welcoming, and our server, whose unique name I regretfully don't recall, was an absolute gem. She was busy but managed to provide us with top-notch service without missing a beat. Her name might not have been what her parents named her, but her dedication to serving guests was clear.
The restaurant was not only clean but also free from any unpleasant odors. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with the delightful aromas of the delicious creations being prepared in the kitchen.
In summary, my visit to Snooze on Westheimer was a fantastic way to start the day. The Tacos and Pancake Flight were both delightful, and the service and ambiance made the experience all the more enjoyable. I'll definitely be back to try more of their mouthwatering offerings, and I look forward to exploring Snooze in Austin as well. Highly recommended!
bummer that my pics wouldn't upload, kept getting...
Read moreWait time: We got on the waitlist before coming to the restaurant. The waitlist is really a check in timer, which you have to wait even more after you there and check in. In total we waited 45 mins, out waitlist timer told use 10-20mins. So it doesn't matter what you do you will wait. Also they don't read the requests. I requested indoor seating due to the cold and they still tried to seat us outside.
Service: Terrible. We interreacted with three different servers. We were rushed to order our drinks. Considering the wait, you can wait for me to read the menu. We ordered our food and drinks. The first server caught the stress over the situation and stepped back offered us water while we decided. A while passes we order our drinks and food. A while passes we get our food, I ask the second server about our drinks and ketchup. A third server notices we haven't eaten much. A third server asked if our food tastes good. They walk away as I am telling them what's wrong. All servers ask us if our food tastes good, none of them care enough to stick around long enough to hear the answer or listen to our needs. I end up getting up to ask another table for ketchup. We get our coffee as finish our food. I don't finish it. Our first server comes back and tells us the bar was backed up. At this point the restaurant is not full or as busy. We ask for our check, but she walks away again. Nothing new at this point.
It was insulting, because people working here are capable of good service and listening. There was a server running all over the place, but he stopped at his tables and listened to his guests. He severed all the tables around us and was the only one to not interact with us. I wish he did.
Food: I ate everything because I was hungry, not because it is good. The only good things where the jelly and the hash browns. Food was cold. Everything else was cold. I ordered a Chai Latte. It tasted like cardamom and nothing else. My partner tried it too and agreed that it was bad.
We will not be coming back. The wait is not worth the food or the treatment. First Watch and Dish Society have waits too, but the food and service is...

ORIGINAL REVIEW:
Quality of product and service reflect quality of management and brand.
Snooze is FANTASTIC!
Wonderful, tasty breakfasts that are elevated far above traditional diner food without losing the essence and soul of a hearty, fulfilling breakfast.
Superior to traditional diner food.
Great service with a smile from the moment you check in with the seating host/hostess. Our server today, Santiago, represented himself and the Snooze brand extremely well. Could not ask for anything more.
Everyone at Snooze is happy to see you. Very light, positive vibe throughout restaurant.
Just a great place with wonderful, positive people making it all happen.
