Dairy Queen Store — Restaurant in Hurst

There was no one here at 6:53pm on a Friday. Red flag but whatever. Not my 1st fast food rodeo. Yeehaw!! Walked in to be greeted by a guy with toilet paper shoved up his bloody nose. Ok, red flag! Should have left. Ordered food against my best judgement. Bloody nose guy touching all over the rim of the cups. Again, deep breaths. Don't make it weird. He brings us our drinks. The fountain was broken and the floor in half the restaurant was soaked. Things happen...again...OK.

WAITED 30 MINUTES FOR FOOD!! I knew they were slow from other reviews. Maybe the food is fresh though.

Went to the counter to ask about the food. They seemed confused. Bloody nose guy grabbed the manager. She was nice. They couldn't find the order when looking it up. I gave the number...27. No go. I went to the table to get my receipt and asked for a refund. The manager fave me a refund while some girl stood my the register picking a zit on her cheek.

The manager asked the cook guy what the hold up was with the burger. The steak fingers had been up there waiting for awhile. Cook guy said he forgot (not even kidding here). She asked how long the steak fingers were up there. He didn't answer and asked if she wanted new ones. They were damn near instant available and so was the burger!!

I get to the table and unwrap my burger. It has cheese on it. I ordered no cheese cus I'm lactose intolerant. Not a heavy lift here. It's not like I'm gluten free at a fast food joint.

I could tell the burger was cold too. The cheese wasn't even melted a bit.

We got up to leave without eating. I saw the manager and mentioned the order was wrong after all that. She wanted to correct it but really....who can trust ANYTHING coming out of that kitchen at this point.

Alright, so here's the scoop (pun intended) on this Dairy Queen. Place was surprisingly neat and spacious. Even when it started getting busy, I didn't feel like I was packed in a can. Good start!

The crew here? Top-notch! They were all smiles, super chill, and they nailed my order even though I asked for a few tweaks. Big win in my book. Waiting time wasn't bad either, which is always a bonus when you're hungry.

Now, let's talk goodies. I dove into a Blizzard, and dang, it was killer! Creamy, loaded with toppings, and just the right amount of sweetness. As for the other grub, the burger had that juicy bite, and the fries were the right kind of crispy. Even the chicken tenders, which I grabbed on a whim, were better than I expected.

Only thing is, while everything was good, I kinda wish they had some new or different stuff on the menu. Like, throw in a wild card flavor or a special of the month? That'd be cool.

All in all, if you're around and craving some classic DQ action with a side of good vibes, swing by this spot. It's a bit better than your regular Dairy Queen, and I reckon you'll leave with a...

Ice cream was good, but all you gotta do is actually serve it. Walked in and the people on the back didn't even acknowledge us for at least 5 minutes. And we were the only people in the joint. Then when they brought our ice cream, they only brought mine. The young man said that he would be right back with it. Well, he never came back. So my girlfriend had waited long enough and walked up to the counter and I can hear her say, " excuse me, excuse me, excuse me....." again no one else is is the joint but us. And finally someone says, "what?" She says, is that my ice cream right there? Well it was, and we finally ate. Much to my disagreement, my girlfriend wanted a diet coke before we left. So she walked up to the counter and no one would even look at her. Finally when the young lady did make it to the register, she just punched a key and looked up at my girlfriend and just started at her like she did something wrong. My girlfriend bought her drink, and the girl just handed her the cup and walked away. If you own this store, you are going to lose money with your current crew. We will never be back, and I will personally spread the word that your people are the worst...
