Volcano's Sports Bar and Grill — Restaurant in Hurst

05/26/25 I have been visiting this bar for two years, and the bartenders usually remember you.

Today, I went in to play pool because I know it’s one of the best places to enjoy the game. However, tonight, I found it difficult to focus on my game because someone kept walking in front of me and accusing me of being in their way.

Twice, a man in an Astros jersey walked in front of me while I was trying to enjoy my time playing pool. I waited for him to pass, but he continued to obstruct my view. I assumed he was friends with the couple next to me, which explained his repeated interruptions. Things escalated when I was holding the pool cue, and he loudly exclaimed, “You saw me walking!”

I mentioned the situation to my server, and I noticed she spoke with the couple for a while, which made me think she informed them about what was happening. Later, I went to the restroom and shared my experience with the bartender. I believe some regulars asked who had been rude to us, but the server seemed to discourage me from naming names, perhaps because the man was a regular and she didn’t want to jeopardize her tip.

Once the server acknowledged that I was seeking clarity, she spoke to him. When he returned, he seemed unsure about whom to address face-to-face. He didn’t apologize but instead referenced the Bible without hesitation.

To both of them, I recommend reading “Ephesians 4:25.”

Additionally, for women who don’t have a male friend, I advise against going there with just female friends. It’s best to include a guy in the group so you can play pool without feeling...

I have been to Volcanos many times before with friends as a group or by myself. However I'm rethinking this... The last several times I have been here the service has been horrible! Mainly the bartender Tabby! She is rude and hateful to customers. I have actually seen her kick people out who were with a group for no reason at all! These people where friendly not saying or doing anything wrong just laughing and enjoying the company they were with and celebrating a friends new employment. In fact one of the persons that was asked to leave was the one who just got a new job! This bartender has a problem! She seems to favor the people that should be kicked out and the people who actually are decent people she gets rid of. She takes forever to serve people and ignores people that are not her "friend". She lets your food get cold and drinks empty. As a frequent customer I refuse to spend another $ in a place that allows their employees to treat people like this! Get rid of her and you will get back good customers and less complaints. Probably revenue will increase with her not there giving "free" drinks to her...

Last night I ordered the steak and loaded mashed potatoes, like I always do when my team plays out of volcano's. I ordered it medium. It was very well done. So I showed my server who was very apologetic and she attempted to fix it for me. I was then told by the manager that the GM believes that the steak was cooked appropriately and that they would not remake it for me. They said they would comp anything for me but I could not order another steak. I was shocked. I've always bragged about this sports bar making a surprisingly good, decently priced steak. I'm so sad I was treated that way. I felt even worse for the server who couldn't apologize enough to me. I paid her for my red bulls and hope she feels she was tipped well. I wont spend another dime in there if I can help it. Not mad, just disappointed. ☹
