The Traveling Bowl — Restaurant in Hutchinson

I have eaten here before at the traveling food truck. The meatloaf and cheesy potatoes were amazing. I attempted to stop in to the stationary location for the first time today. There is no clear indication that they expect customers to wait in line and then find seating. Apparently my party committed a faux pas by sitting at a table while one of us waited in line. I understand each restaurant is different. However, rather than explaining that this isn’t the way The Traveling Bowl operates, both ladies working carried on a loud conversation about how rude we were for sitting down when there was a line, and then apologized to the customers at the front of the line on our behalf. It was embarrassing, particularly as we had no way of knowing that typically appropriate restaurant etiquette was considered so rude by staff at this establishment. The time was 11:20 am and the front end greater cashier was extremely nice but let's talk about the food shal we.l at times you don't run into down home cooking like you used too and then every now and then as a special little treat you run into little establishments but this one was different it was special I had the meatloaf and the cheesy potatoes it was like I was transported to my early teen years awesome almost made me cry and then on top of that I had the Brownie and the peach cobbler and the same thing and then I got a real big shock when I found out the owner looked like she was 19 years old and that was totally awesome good job kid so I highly recommend this place if you want to be humbled by food the old school way thanks I...

We really liked eating at the Traveling Bowl Today in Hutchinson, KS. I have to commend them for being on a whole new level of clean! They were spotless-tables were clean and they all had masks on, gloves and the restaurant was immaculate! I was very impressed with the dividers they had between each table to protect their guests from Covid exposure-I mean That is impressive (see pictures below)!! We have been to larger restaurants that should ha e done this but..they didn’t! They were very friendly and sweet. I would recommend the rice, cream cheese and bacon bowl and of course, the peach tea!
