Well...sometimes you catch them on the wrong day. So here's what happens when communication breaks down: When approaching the register to order I see a sign revealing the sizes of the sandwiches, of how many inches is a 'small' vs 'large,' etc. Except it cant possibly be right as it says a 'Large" sub is six inches long. A LARGE sub is six inches??? So obviously confused, I ask the young teen behind the counter for clarification: "Am I reading this right? A large sub is only six inches?" "Yes." "..." And there you have it. That's really all I can do, ask a question and trust the answer. Other than call the teen a liar {which I didn't}, that's the end of it. So if I came in there to buy a twelve inch sub, I have to buy TWO 'large' subs. Whatever. I rarely go to Firehouse so maybe that's just they way they do things. So fine, if I came there for two eight inch subs and a twelve, I now have no choice but to buy four large subs. And a kids meal. Order away... Now the fun REALLY begins...
One} Five minutes later, the young teen runs out with my receipt and asks me for clarification. "No, I did NOT order the Hook and Ladder. I ordered the Firehouse Hero." "Oops."
Two} Five minutes? When I walked in there was one, count 'em, ONE customer ahead of me. There were three to four young teens behind the counter...and it still took FIVE MINUTES to start the order??? It took just over fifteen minutes to finish it. At least. :::facepalm::: Again, no line. No other customers. With FOUR workers behind the counter. Even Subway doesn't take that long.
Three} In this indeterminable wait I finally found the source of my confusion. The 'real' size chart was nowhere near where people, like, actually order. It was somewhere you don't look when you're facing the register. But that's why you're supposed to trust your server. "A LARGE is six inches?" "Yes." I asked. They answered. What else was there to do? Well, there was the realization that all I needed to buy was 28 inches of sub, plus one kids meal...but instead due to misinformation I was now stuck with 48 INCHES of sub. That's over FOOT AND A HALF of unwanted, unneeded, wasted sub. And wasted money.
I asked. They answered.
So after FIFTEEN MINUTES {if not longer} of FOUR kids working on my order, finally it was completed. A day late and twenty inches too long. But as a parting gift:
Four} They forgot to give me the kids drink for the kids meal.
:::sigh::: Nevermind. Just nevermind. I'm done here.
Now there's little anger here. Just exhaustion. I havent been to a Firehouse in numerous years and this experience is obviously going to make that several years more. Maybe the kids were flustered. Maybe it was the end of their shift. Maybe maybe. I remember my servers name, but there's no need to get anyone in trouble. This can be a learning experience. I've worked fast food as well and no one likes a Karen. I also spent upwards of $20 that I didn't have to {or didn't get} on unnecessary food. Again, I'm just tired.
I'm also sticking to Jimmy John's...
Read moreWent in today for the first time, as we live clear across town in Ammon, got an order for my partner and I to go. I walked in and was immideatly greeted by one of the workers. I went to the register a little confused on what to order but the cashier understood my confusion and got my order put in exactly how I wanted it while the manager, (I assume based on the different work attire, could be wrong.) Rachel helped supervise. They were both very kind and offered exceptional customer service for my first visit. As I waited for our subs to be prepared I overheard Rachel taking a big catering order and couldn't help but think how knowledgeable and kind she was to the person on the other end of the call. Made it all the way back home and tried our subs which were just as incredible as the service I received! Mind you that's even after the somewhat timely drive back to Ammon. I hope to hear of another store opening on the east side or Ammon area! Exceptional from walking through the door to the food coma I'm...
Read moreOrdered a sandwich from here and they did not send the chips when the sandwich was delivered. Uber eats said they did not give them to the driver. Called the store. They said sorry and the manager would not even get on the phone to help resolve. Additionally the sandwich was slapped together and was disgusting.. No chip + disgusting sandwich+ plus no manager resolution of order problems = Bad day..
Just ordered again from this place through Grub Hub. Delivery driver did not bring the drink or the chip. Said that this place did not set it out. Called Firehouse again to find out why chip and a drink that I paid for was not delivered and they said it is up to the driver to grab the drink and not the chip.. Apparently the message has not been given to grub hub.. Another one star for this place. If your looking to have them deliver your food count on there...
