TO THE MANAGEMENT- With the new location change I have seen everything not go downhill, but instead a free fall to a black pit. The service from the workers makes you feel like you are not welcome, and a burden. TASHA and MATEAH absolutely appalled me with their dreadful customer service. From the eye rolls, ignored questions, lack of knowledge, unwillingness to help their customers, to their negative, stuck up energy they put into the establishment. The “sushi” is supposed to be a tight roll with quality contents. The sushi ALWAYS falls apart, is messy, and not cut correctly. The Tots dish is so sad now! Basically a half filled bowl with tots and grass. And they give you one baby sauce container and will make you give them your right arm for another if you need it, (which you will). From the food to the customer service, I have had the driest, most unpleasant experience. I hope you guys really consider not only my review, but the majority of your bad reviews to be serious concerns.

update:::::: thank u for finally bringing the tofu back, i restore my trust in u <3 {green onions being long is still weird, but i’ll accept it} ::::: the new location is terrible. changed everything about Dharma that boise locals loved. the new menu is pathetic, not at all vegan inclusive anymore seeing how they replaced tofu with... seasoned beets??? also?? who cuts green onions vertically? why do you do that now it’s weird. i just ate one piece of the roll i ordered 5 minutes ago, asked for no beets, got beets, and the rice was literally cooked into a mushy paste.. i’d put 0 stars if i could. Dharma, please reverse the awful changes y’all made..

I have been going here for two years now today. Since I was pregnant I loved there teriyaki bowl. This is the best place to eat sushi because 1. It IS authentic, 2. The people are very very friendly and 3. There portion sizes are MORE than generous! This is my absolute favorite place in the world and now two years later, I come here with my daughter and husband. If you like spicy I’d recommend the roadhouse and if you love teriyaki, there bowl is huge and worth the price! The chicken is also very tender!

Title: Subpar Experience at Dharma Sushi & Thai

Rating: ⭐️⭐️

Review:

My recent visit to Dharma Sushi & Thai left much to be desired, as the overall experience fell short of expectations. Beyond the disappointment of the lack of authentic Thai cuisine as stated in there name, I also encountered additional issues that affected my dining experience.

One notable concern was the absence of an exhaust vent for the grease in the restaurant. As a result, the air inside was heavy with the smell of grease, which permeated everything, including clothing and hair. Leaving the restaurant with a lingering smell of grease was highly unpleasant and detracted from the dining experience.

Furthermore, the condition of the restaurant's floor was unsatisfactory. It was apparent that the floor had not been adequately maintained, as it was covered in grease. This not only created an unappealing visual impression but also posed a potential safety hazard.

These cleanliness and maintenance issues showcased a lack of attention to detail and overall hygiene standards, which significantly impacted the overall dining experience.

While the absence of any Thai dishes and the underwhelming sushi selection were already disappointing, the lack of proper ventilation and cleanliness concerns added to the overall dissatisfaction. These issues highlight a lack of care and attention to the restaurant's atmosphere and overall customer experience.

Considering the aforementioned concerns, I would hesitate to recommend Dharma Sushi & Thai as a dining destination. For a more enjoyable and hygienic experience, I suggest exploring other establishments that prioritize cleanliness, authentic cuisine, and a pleasant dining atmosphere.

Two stars are given for the potential of the sushi selection, but the lack of proper ventilation, cleanliness issues, and absence of authentic Thai dishes contribute to an overall subpar...

Their response (to my original review) feels so frusterating. It is giving reasons and defending rude and harmful behavior. It seems hanging up on someone twice and correcting someone in a way that feels rude is ok.

As I explained to this person, I know they intentionally hanging up because they said it!!! It is frustrating and lacks care to say it was no purpose when it was LITERALLY announced by the person.

The information was not really correct in my opinion. It is in fact it is normal and correct to call them (cut) rolls. That's like someone saying in my opinon can I have a piece of pizza? And they say in a perceived attitude "it's called a slice of pizza" I just so think this was said in a rude manner. Thought it might not have been on purpose.

The original response of the restaurant is exactly why I felt it was not taken serious. To defend/deny hanging up etc.

I could tell on the phone that they were not taking it seriously and this response only validates those feelings.. For me telling me what I said happened is not true is not considering feedback.

(Original review)

The guy on the phone was so rude & purposely hung up on me two times.

I called and to speak to the manager (or said they were) and got a vibe that it was seen as unimportant.

For me it was rude customer serice and for that reason I won't be eating or ordering from here. J don't think the manager even...

I've had food here in the past that was good and I know a couple people that love eating here so I'm trying to be fair with my overall stars.

Having said that, do NOT order the Roadhouse. It was the worst sushi roll I've ever tried. It says it comes with Tuna. I have no idea what meat they actually put in my roll - all I know is that it was tough and chewy like overcooked chicken. That's what I get for trying something so non-traditional. I used to naively think bacon was an improvement to almost anything, but I'm now convinced it doesn't belong anywhere near sushi. What was I thinking? The flavor combination in this roll was disgusting. The other items we got seemed fine. My coworker enjoyed her meal so I would probably guess the rest if it was even good. But the Roadhouse ruined my meal - it permeated everything, I couldn't get the taste out of my mouth, no amount of sauces helped, and I threw a large portion of my food away.

Sadly, I don't get a lot of extra income to spend on eating out and I don't think I can justify spending my money here again. I hope they take this monstrosity off their menu for everybody...
