Encanto Alebrije Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Indianapolis

We had a group of eight women for a birthday celebration. I contacted the restaurant to make reservations two weeks prior, and through the time leading up to the dinner, Carla was very responsive and professional. I received several notifications about the reservation, so I felt very confident.

Once there we were treated so well! The drinks are a perfect combination of strong and delicious…I highly recommend the Smoki Guava or their special margarita. Every single person in our party raved about the food…even the rice and beans had amazing flavor.

They celebrated our friend’s birthday and I also highly recommend the churros dessert. There were several compliments on the music from our group as well. This was an awesome replacement for Rock Bottom. We went here for lunch. The specials are great- $12 for certain dishes plus a drink. We both got burrito bowls (my coworker got shredded chicken and i got asada...if I got back, I am definitely switching to the burrito or the arroz con Pollo since both looked delicious).

The service was very good. All the staff worked together to keep things moving. The space was clean and inviting with good music as well.

The food was fresh. While a little less flavor than I typically want on my own, you could tell how fresh the ingredients were. They also had an awesome salsa and top notch hot sauce that worked perfectly with everything.

The atmosphere was relaxing and had great authentic Mexican music playing which we enjoyed. The service was quick and friendly as well. The issues we had were with the food. Don’t get me wrong I would give my food a 7/10 because of presentation and freshness of the veggies, also overall taste. However, the chicken was cooked very hard and dry. My husband would give his plate a 5/10 because he is Mexican and loves a good enchilada and these just didn’t live up to his mom’s enchiladas. He’s a harsher critic than I an lol so I gave this overall experience a 4/5 stars and...
