Famous Dave's Bar-B-Que — Restaurant in Indianapolis

They changed their closing time since I’ve been here last. Used to be 10 or 1030. I came in at 830 and then saw that they had a sign on the door saying they closed at 9. No problem I thought, still 30 minutes until closing and I’ll just leave a nice tip since 30 minutes is a bit closer to closing than I like to go to places. Waited a couple minutes to get seated and was told that all the tables were dirty, so I’d have to either wait for one to be cleaned or I could sit in the bar. So I figured I’d sit at a table in the bar area so I could get my order in quicker. Then I proceeded to sit there until 9 as three of the servers/bartenders made drinks for other tables without ever saying a word to me. Pretty sure they knew I was there though since I’m pretty sure I heard them talking about how the hostess shouldn’t have sent me over to them or something. Finally I left so that I could eat somewhere else before everywhere else closed at 10.

Edit: Went back a second time. There were tables that weren’t dirty and I got seated in the main dining area. Service was decent and the food was good. Doesn’t make up for the first time but I’ll bump my review up to two stars instead of one. I’ve been to cheaper bbq places with better food and never had a service issue. We came in last night with a group of 7 people. We were greated at the door immediately by a nice young woman. She told us she was getting a table together for so. We waited for maybe 3 minutes. In the mean time, i went to the bar to grab a drink. The bartender offered for our group to sit in there. However i kindly declined as it was about 30 degrees hotter in there than on the other side of the building. We were sat in their party section and when I tell you if felt as if we were walking through the Sahara desert! I feel bad for the staff. Everyone was sweating. Trying to remain calm and collected but you can tell their were hot. The bartender actually ended up taking out party anyways! She was very kind. And very bubbly. She apologized for the heat as we complained and even offered to put a fan in front of (which we declined. They needed it more.) These young people working here are resilient! I recently went in on a Tuesday and received some of the absolute worst food presentation and customer service. I really want my money back. First order had a dead dried up bug on my to go container. Ewwww!!! I took it back in the second time a lady replaced the food. I felt better at first but she made me feel unsettled shortly after, due to the lack of care of the fact a bug was dead on my to go container. She brushed it off like it was nothing major. She’s like it was probably just an ant. Ummmm ok but don’t you guys not have pest control? 😳 Then she kept insinuating my food wasn’t the same food I had just given her back. She’s like it’s fresh. I wasn’t thinking anything of it until she kept saying it. I honestly couldn’t tell the difference so it freaked me out I tossed it. A waste of money smh.
