Five Guys — Restaurant in Indianapolis

Last weekend my business partner and I happen to be in Indianapolis, IN., on business forgetting that it was March Madness and of course our hotel was right in the middle of the NCAA grounds or park. On Saturday we could not get anything ordered due to the thousands of fans roaming the streets so anything such as Grub Hub or any of the other delivery services were just to overwhelmed. We finally got our order in at the Washington St. Five Guys and drove down to pick it up.. It was a mad house, people were standing everywhere. I got to the counter and found out that they were so overloaded they had cut off all delivery service such as Grub Hub and the rest at 8 p.m., but in doing so it screwed up their computer system. None of my credit cards would work, I was so flustered, I knew it was not my cards, as I was looking at my balances on my cards on my phone.. Well suddenly a man with the most incredible BLUE eyes and tattoos walked up in his uniform and said point blank, “This is not your fault, we are so overwhelmed, and the credit card system has to be reset, this is my first night here in the store as manager and you are from out of town. He reached into his wallet and paid for our dinner! I was dumbstruck. (Who does that now in this day and time?), I said please no I will just walk across the street and get cash, he said NO, he would not take it and he shook my hand as we both had on gloves and I thanked him.. This Managers name was JAKE!! I felt so bad about it the next day I went back to the store and offered to pay in cash for my food the night before.. I could not bear to think of him hardworking taking money from his pocket for a stranger. He again nor his staff would take the money, they all remembered me and then even bought us a soft drink..

We all know the food at Five Guys is amazing, but for me it is the staff, Jake, this new manager who was busting his butt, did something so small but to me so big. It showed that even in this day and time when people are so mean, scared, bigots, and just conspiracy theory ridden with all of their secrets, there is always that one little light that shines.. Thank you Jake, what you did for us was far more then pay for a meal, it was bring us back to what is wrong with the world, and what could be so right with the world, if we would just take our sunglasses off and stop looking at everything threw a filter.. Thank you.. If you are ever in Indianapolis, go to the Washington Street Five Guys.. You will be treated...

We were the two Australian guys visiting five guys after gen con ended.

The two female staff were lovely. The place was quiet on the day. The young male staff with his headphone called out our order, but our milkshake was missing.

I thought it may come later so I waited. After we finished the whole meal, still nothing. When I went and said excuse me sir (although he looked like a teen), he interrupted me and just pointed at the front counter, to an older male staff. He walked off when I was mid sentence.

I went to ask the older staff, he said we just have to wait.

We waited, 10 to 15 mins after we ate everything, still nothing. Went to ask one of the female staff and she fixed it up in literally seconds.

It's not the end of the world, but the contrast betweeen the two lovely female staff and the two incredibly rude male staff was astounding. What a shame, without the two men the experience would have been much,...

My brother and I went in and ordered 2 bacon cheese burgers and 2 sm frys and 2 large drinks, I had ordered extra grilled onions and extra grilled jalapenos(its how I like my burgers), my burger had very little onion and 2 uncooked slices of jalapeno on the burger, by the time we got home we live 4 mins away we had to microwave everything because it was barely luke warm.The burgers from five guys are typically very juicy and tasty but it tasted as if they did not season anything. The frys were limp and old because they got orders mixed up along with the gentleman on the fry station was putting the frys above the hood on a non heated surface without and wormer and we had to wait 16mins for our food. As we were leaving we had 2 females try to steal our order aswell and they seemed as though they had done it before. I am very unhappy and disappointed with there survice. I believe more training is needed...
