Izumi Japanese Cuisine — Restaurant in Indianapolis

This place is amazing! First of all, you walk in to the most peaceful and inviting place to sit. The decor makes you feel like you are in Asia, like Indonesia. Ricky took great care of me, brought me water without even asking! To top it off, the first thing I hear is instrumental Christian music playing! Right down my Alley! The hardest thing is choosing which bowl of ramen that I want to devour! I decided on the Raisen, since it had a whole bunch of seafood. I am not a corn fan, so he let me take out the corn and add mushrooms instead. That was a great choice. And oh that "Jethro size" bowl of Ramen was super delicious!! Shrimp, crab, fish tofu, bamboo shoots, bean sprouts, and so much more in Miso! Oh so good! I am a Travel Agent who LOVES to stop at the "hole in the wall places," and this is a must on your way North to Indy or Chicago!! I may stop on my way back! Oh so good! The menu is excellent and it was difficult to make a selection as I wanted to try so many things. The laminated style of the menu and the included dish pictures for the ramen was a nice detail. We ordered the crab cake and a sushi roll for an appetizer. Both were delicious and fresh. We then had steak hibachi and a beef ramen dish for dinner. The ramen broth was delicious. The ramen dish I ordered did have one chili star for hotness (most dishes have no chili star, a couple have one chili star and I think one dish had two chili stars as a maximum). It was delicious and spicy, but I enjoy spicy. If you do not like spicy food I would choose something other than a chili star dish.

A good place to get food! I loved the business before this place- Hana Japanese infusion! But this place is a good replacement. The building and updated are beautiful designs. The service was very good! Kind and friendly workers! Did good checking on us!

We both got the bento box. It was okay. I would add more veggies with the meat. Between the two bento boxes there were only two pieces of broccoli and 3 carrots. Majority of the veggie was cabbage. I do wish the bento box came with salad as well with the soup, as many other Japanese restaurants do that. I also wish there was an option or either miso or clear soup. But i understand this new restaurant focuses on their ramen. We will be back to try that as well!

The sushi was very good! Definitely recommend that as well! I do appreciate they have bento, hibachi, sushi and ramen options! Overall good...
