Pictures below but Save your time, money, sanity, and health. The hotel appears to be clean as there are an abundance of workers in the hall spot cleaning and in the way of the general public. The stares they give are uncomfortable. The place doesn't feel welcoming. I drove five hours to get there, the street leading in is extremely torn up large pot holes that make you drive against traffic to get around them.
The room was the nastiest thing I had seen in life. I always clean with Lysol wipes the vents were clearly in distress and clogged. The tables and lamps were covered in stains and spots, the hair dryer was filled with stains and the vent was COVERED in each section which looked like thick dryer vent dust.
The bathroom toilet cried and whined for several minutes after flushing it, so loud it over powered the TV. Our phone didn't work, the fridge had hair all inside of it. The microwave was dirty, the fridge had what looked like a busted soda inside of it. I cleaned every surface including the chairs and tables, sink, and bathroom. Took me a large container of Lysol wipes. I finally got ready for a shower I pulled the covers back to have it ready for after. BLOOD spots in the sheets. Hard, dark, spots. Who the heck made the bed over that nasty biohazard and still has a job?!?
I went to the office since we couldn't call them from the room. I was the second person there. I was ignored until it was my turn yet every Caucasian person that came after me was helped before me. Even when I showed them the wipes and how bad the room was I was still left to wait for others to have their needs met. Some left and came back and we're still helped before me.
I finally went to sit down since I have spinal issues and have had a long day. I was blamed for sitting on the phone instead of waiting for them at he counter after the 10 mins I had already stood and told them the issues. You could tell it was a mess when the staff was gathering to blame me for not coming to the front to say the room hadn't been cleaned. After my travels and moving in a trunk worth of stuff I wasn't in the mood to pack it all up, move to another room, then have to clean it again. During my time at the desk they had to give another man a 100% refund for his issues. This seemed to be a common thing.
My guest who was in the room had to come to the front and demand they gonfix their issues with the room since they were not doing anything but talking and blaming. They offered 10% off but like I told them it took an hour to clean, wasted my eight dollar wipes, standing here wasting my resting time in the lobby, and being treated like we were not welcome all while my twenty five dollar salmon and the rest of the meal is going bad because it is not being stored properly. It wasn't until I threatened the board of health while on the phone that suddenly we became a priority. Very embarrassing for them.
They later offered 50% off the total stay but the damage was done. They finally came to change the bedding and the next time we asked for more sheets and towels, we were shorted some. The freezer never was cleaned so our stuff went to waste, the long walks to and from the front desk for help were ridiculous for all of the back and forth. I just went to Walmart and got my own towels and rags since they kept saying it would be hours before we would have access to some. We were told to put the trash and sheets outside the door but they sat the whole rest of the day and night were still there the next day.
I left early. I'd rather be home iny own space than wasting money like that. What was supposed to be a decent weekend turned into drama and wasted plans too tired to finally do the list of things we had planned on the staycation. They didn't appear to care for black people despite having a complexion themselves. It is embarrassing to see behavior like that and to have to work so hard to relax where you are spending your money, which they forget if it wasn't for the guests coming, they would not have jobs and income to pay...

Read moreI was never sure if this was newly built or recently renovated, but my guess is renovated. The main reason I say that is because there are two sets of decorative touches at work.
One is bright and clean newly painted wall spaces, floors and ceilings in most rooms, the other is a series of DYI type mistakes or non professional type finishes. Lots of paint drips oversprays and etc. I noticed a lot of high corners and edges were not clean in common areas, this is probably a design error as they have to be hard to reach. The front vestibule however was immaculate. Other things like the drywall finishes around some AC plugs, paint on outlets covers, and some weird design choices like lamps with floor buttons for off and on or broken / missing AC control panel doors seem to be overlooked as unimportant. The light choices seemed weird to me because of how they work. If you turn your light off at night using the floor button and you have a phone charger plugged into the outlet on the light, the charger gets turned off too. Weird right?
The staff was 100% very friendly and they were very accommodating. Very easy to interact with, although the insistence on a $100 dollar deposit seems more in line with a lower tier hotel. They may have problematic guests though, I have no idea.
The pool is a very bad look. Because it has not been opened for the season it’s ignored and currently , well it is best described as green swamp water. Very unappealing. It would be better totally empty.
It seems like when you put all of this together they are in constant cost cutting or penny pinching mode. For example, the common areas all seem to be non-air conditioned. This includes the hallways, the front check in area and importantly the breakfast area. So, Sitting in the breakfast area and sweating while trying to eat your breakfast just destroys the atmosphere created by a great breakfast area. I was perplexed by the message being sent to customers here. I was not unhappy overall, however I was sort of confused about some of this. The elevator was perfect. The AC was wonky and worked when it felt like it. At 70* the room was stifling and at 68* it was freezing cold. No in between. Outdated AC’s need to...
