Do not go here if you’re white. The man was just awful to me.He was glaring at me the entire time in the establishment and when it was time to ring me up he called one of the girls to do it.(he was also incredibly rude to one of the women workers yelling at her incredibly loud about forgetting to give his friends napkins🤦🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️😮💨. I was polite the entire time, I paid, I tipped. The food was amazing so that’s the really sad part about it.The concept also is so cool. But the man working the line let a group of 6 and then a group of 4 and then an older couple of 2 go ahead of us,(we were clearly in line) he just kept calling them up ahead of us, he also fist bumped all of them that he let go ahead after each group paid , like he was proud of his blatant racism - it was beyond rude, I’d never treat paying customers like that. Let alone another human like that. 🤢🤮. Negative a million stars for service...
Read moreFinally some real NYC style halal food in Indy!
Tried Shah Halal Food in Indianapolis and I was seriously impressed. The chicken over rice took me straight back to the flavors I used to enjoy in New York - juicy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The white and hot sauces were on point too!
The restaurant is super clean with a fresh, modern interior. You can tell they put a lot of thought and effort into creating a good dining experience. The vibe is chill, the music is just right (not too loud, not too quiet), and it’s located in a great area with easy parking.
Service was fast and friendly. Definitely a great spot if you’re craving halal street food in Indianapolis. I’ll be back soon to try their lamb gyro and falafel platter next.
Highly recommend this place - support local businesses doing it right from...
Read moreI’ve eaten a lot of shah’s halal food in New York and I’m extremely disappointed seeing the service here. The workers don’t care, they clearly dont want to be there. We asked for hot sauce and she gave maybe the tiniest amount ever and gave a look. She gave such little meat, and when we asked for the onion and peppers she didn’t even give the full scoop just a few bits of peppers and onion almost hand picking two-three pieces. The workers spent more time focusing on wrapping my HALF of a pita bread for 5 minutes. Because of places like this workers like these shah’s is going to lose their business. This is a disappointment being a New Yorker myself and thinking I finally have a piece of home in Indiana. Shah’s do better, the workers here clearly don’t want to their job and are ruining...
