My wife and I went here several months ago, hoping to find a new place to eat. As we walked in, there was a drunk man with his head in his hands on the sidewalk in front of the restaurant, I assume from the bar next door. The restaurant was completely empty, aside from us and the server. A table immediately in front of the door had a plate full of uneaten food on it.
We ordered our food, and the man from outside came in and sat down at the table with the food, burping loudly and mumbling to himself as he ate. My wife and I sat quietly, and made conversation while we waited for our food. Suddenly, the drunk man started screaming obscenities at my wife and I, claiming that we looked at him funny, and was threatening us while physically blocking the exit. The server, who was the only other person in the room with us, rolled his eyes and walked back to the kitchen, leaving us alone with the enraged drunk. I got the impression from the server's reaction that this wasn't the first time that this had happened.
We did our best to ignore the man, and he eventually left the restaurant. Obviously upset from the encounter, we paid and took our food home after the man left. We ate the food at home, and it really wasn't great. Extremely salty, but otherwise bland and soggy. I'm kind of dumbfounded by the positive reviews of the food. It must have improved since we were there.
I wouldn't usually ever bash a place over the actions of a bad customer, but in the case of this one I'll make an exception. I was extremely disappointed by the reaction of the server in dismissively leaving us alone with the local raging drunk for a good 10...
Read moreI am writing this review after ordering from here several times. First I want to say the food is good for take out Chinese. The only item I did not particularly care for was the BBQ pork. It was much like what you might get at a grocery store. Not a deal breaker though as the rest of the food was very good.
My real let down was that they advertise delivery but often are not able to facilitate doing so. Several weeks ago it was very confusing trying to arrange having the food delivered. I had to call different numbers and then guess at what they wanted me to do to achieve a delivery. I think maybe it was farmed out to a delivery service, which is ok but very confusing making it happen.
Unfortunately today I tried to order for five people and have it delivered and was refused because they indicated they did not have a delivery driver. Yes I could simply drive down and pick it up, but really picked this restaurant for the delivery option.
I hope they can figure out a way to improve on this in the future. Other than that the food is really good. Maybe next time :)
I do feel compassion for the restaurant industry workers. Trying to meet all the demands of the consumers must be overwhelming for them.
Took away only one star for the delivery...
Read moreIf I was super milquetoast and didn't know what Chinese food should taste like, I'd probably enjoy this place. Ordered in from Door Dash. The fried rice was mushy. It was clearly over cooked/not rested so it's too soft; absolutely no chew. The flavor is OK. I also, out of curiosity, got the Honey Walnut Chicken. Honestly it's just heavily battered chicken like you would have with sweet and sour, except with a different sauce. The taste is also OK, but the batter absorbed a lot of oil so it's hard to eat much due to the richness. Came with a side of rice, which was also over cooked. Or maybe the rice wasn't rinsed. Either way, won't order again. I'd rather go to Top Gun for these prices. Or, for good food and cheap cheap cheap prices, somewhere like Szechuan First in Kent. If you don't have super high standards for Chinese food and just want somethin' easy, go for it. Otherwise, spend the...
