Malarky’s, what a great name for this place.
I came here with a group of friends, and by mistake I took my copy, and the merchant’s signed receipt. I didn’t realize of this mistake after a couple of days later. Without any receipt, the restaurant had no way of knowing whether I had left a tip, or the amount. The LEGAL and ethical thing to do in these unfortunate scenarios is to charge no tip.
Regardless, if Malarkey’s had tipped themselves a standard 15% or 20%, I wouldn’t have even noticed, or cared. I had intended a 15% tip anyways. But no, that’s not what happened. The waitress / business decided to give themselves a 33% tip. When I called the restaurant to fix this, the manager sounded incredibly annoyed. Instead of being apologetic, as one should be when caught stealing, he just decided that the easiest way was for me to drive over to his dive bar to show my receipt in person. This way he didn’t even have to make the effort to go to his computer and look at a picture of the receipt, or process a refund.
When I went over there without any apology whatsoever, he just handed me the cash for the overtip, and claimed it was a mistake.
Well…this is an amazing example of the problem at restaurants nowadays in the Seattle area. High prices for what it is; extremely entitled waiters that believe they deserve 33% for bringing over a beer and a plate with fries, and bad customer service, even when caught stealing. I call this...
Read moreI used to love this place until recently they cut back on the strength of their mixed drinks. The waitress was very rude to me and said it was made correctly. I know what I used to get and it wasn't even close. I walked up to talk with the bartender who ignored me and she yelled at me from across the room asking if I wanted another. I said it was weak and too much ice. She said if you want less ice I would just get more soda. I am very disappointed. Also, the waitress (Thursday nights) took over 15 minutes before greeting us after sitting in a booth and never brought my glass of water I asked for. Her attitude was like she was annoyed. The food quantity has also been cut back. My prime rib dip had hardly any meat. I have never been treated so rudely as I was treated that night. I am now moving on to another place where I feel welcomed and treated with respect!! So now if you go here, expect to get less quantity, quality and poor service at their same high prices. ...
Read moreFirst thing first, this is a Sports bar. I do not like sports except for Mariner's baseball ⚾ which due to Covid, we hardly had this year. I also cannot stand karoke! There is nothing worse than a bunch a drunks thinking they can sing! That being said, Malarky's is the BEST place to eat in Issaquah! Their grilled chicken sandwich is like no other I've had. Actually, it's the only thing I've ever tried here. It is so good that I don't even want to try anything else! The hubby has had their salads, the BLT and fish-n-chips and always have been good. They have a great selection of beer on tap 🍺🍻🍺 as well as a full bar. This place can get very loud during games but that's to be expected at a Sports bar. We just love it here..great food..great service..great pitchers of beer!...
