Remember the joke about IHOB, yeah this was more like ISlob.
My wife and I got there on a Tuesday night a little before 9PM. The manager was dealing with a party ticket at the register. We stood there, with another couple, waiting over 5 minutes to be seated. He didn't even bother to acknowledge us or apologize for the wait. The restaurant didn't have more than 5 seated tables at that time. Then comes up this totally bored, disinterested looking woman in the sloppiest uniform I've ever seen. Her white shirt was filthy, stained, untucked, and hanging out over the apron she wasn't wearing properly. She didn't way a word to any of us, just grabbed menus and walked away expecting us to follow, threw them down on a table and walked away. No introduction, no silverware, no mention of a server, nothing.
It gets better. We get seated and there are no less than 5 tables in that area that aren't cleaned. One of them was a double table setup that was so loaded with dishes you couldn't see the table top. I kid you not, no one even bothered to pre-bus. We sat there, sat there, sat there. Finally a server that I'm guessing wasn't even notified we were there comes over and greets us and gets our drink order.
Thanks to April M, our server, it was a tolerable experience. The red shirt I assume was the manager wandered off from the register and didn't appear to be doing much of anything. The blond slob was wandering around on her cell phone. At one point April even asked her, "Are you going to do anything?". Yes, we sat surrounded by filthy tables for an hour, while the slob wandered around, sat on her cell phone, and chatted with the manager, in full view of the customers WHILE THERE WERE HALF A DOZEN DIRTY TABLES!
No busser on duty, two people working the kitchen, and poor April was working her butt off to try to clean the tables, take our order, work all 6 or 7 occupied tables, do whatever she was needing to do in the back. I'll grant you, the food was served and we still didn't have silverware as it sat there getting cold, but she was running the front and the back while The Slob and The Manager were just standing in the front near the register chatting and doing absolutely nothing useful. And then I realized why Slob was getting away with looking like that, the Manager in his red shirt was just as disheveled with his shirt untucked and looking as bored and disinterested as she was.
That place was horrible. I used to love IHOP and would drive 50 miles to enjoy one. This is one location I will NEVER return to. The pictures I included are what the place looked like when we left an HOUR after...
Read moreI can't even rate anything except one stand out employee in the North Canton location. It took 53 mins from the time we ordered to get any food. It was not packed at noon today. Actually we had four tables that were empty in our section. The tables weren't cleaned until we were leaving and the busser that came and half cleaned the tables off had his rear end in my husbands face. Water cups had lip marks on the rim. I got to sit my whole visit and listen to 3 other tables do nothing but complain about their service and I observed none of them leave a tip. From the entrance having food underneath the benches that look moldy and something white powder on the seats of them to the walls and both had wiped cream and other food substances on seat and backs of them. We spent $115.00 and the only person in the whole restaurant that was steadily working greeting everyone that came or left. She was absolutely polite with an inviting smile. Shadrei (the hostess "BB") deserves commened and a raise. All I ask as a customer is to not sit somewhere dirty where me n my family of 7 didn't even take the food we wouldn't eat for our dogs. I have never been so upset. One last thing why would you store dishes you use for customers on floor lever of shelves so everything you sweep off the floor now is on the shelves that there serving us with. I took pictures. Read morePrepare for a read. If I could give negative stars I absolutely would. I always have issues when ordering online from this ihop, but today was a new experience. Ordered strawberry banana pancake combo online along with french toast combo. Ordered curbside that they then refused to bring out. Went in, picked up and went home. Opened my bag to see they hadn’t given us anything. No silverware, no butter, no syrup, no strawberries or bananas. I called SIX TIMES. No answer. After 7 I finally got an answer and was immediately put on hold. After ten mins they hung up. Called back, same thing again, hold, then hung up. Called one last time. Lady told me she was going to get the manager and put me on hold again. THEN HUNG UP AGAIN. At this point i’m p*ssed. I drive back down there, walk inside and ask that my entire order is remade because of the time I spent on hold, my food was cold. It is CHAOS inside. The workers look like they have no idea what they’re doing. They’re yelling at each other in front of customers, and being very unprofessional. I told them I needed my order remade, and waited inside for almost another 45 MINUTES before getting my new order. Best part? It still wasn’t right. Please don’t dine here, it’s such a waste of your time and money. Consider the Ihop off of 21 in massillon marketplace instead. You will get much better...
