I built a new PC and only had a couple simple questions about my computer. I called and asked if they had a certain special part. I was told someone was checking for me and they put me on hold for 10 minutes, only to have someone on the other line pick the phone up and hang it up. I heard it through the speaker phone. I tried calling back several times and could no longer get anyone on the phone. I physically went to the store the next morning and I was able to walk up and ask the first agent a question. She told me to hang on and that she would be back. After a couple minutes she came back out and told me that a repair agent would assist me and that he would be out shortly. I ended up standing there in front of the register for about 10 minutes, until someone finally came back out. While I was waiting I checked out the services pamphlet and saw that some of the most simple of computer maintenance and repair tasks were $100+. Couldn't believe it. I didn't see anyone there that looked like they had years of experience and was managing. Just a bunch of young kids who looked the part running around telling people to wait or that they couldn't help them. When the repair agent came out I started to tell him my problem and ask my question. He interrupted me and told me that it could be a number of issues (including the most simple of making sure things are plugged into the right place) and that there's really nothing he can do unless I brought the system to him and let him look at it. I have been around computers and connecting cables and cards my whole life, again I still haven't been able to ask the question I wanted to ask in the first place. I told him that I noticed the price for a diagnostic on the computer issue was $100, and asked if I would have to pay that. He said not unless he had to remove anything or perform any actions to the computer. He began to act like the conversation was over. SO I went ahead and asked him a simple question to see how he would respond. He gave me a very vague, very unspecific solution that would end up with me paying for a product, and just returning it if it doesn't work, which is more of a last resort (guess and check) way to do things, and I am ok with that in certain situations, but isn't the Geek Squad supposed to be experts in computer diagnostics and repair? Yeah RIGHT. I felt that there wasn't any effort towards helping me as customer and listening to the issue I had. I received more help from a stock boy at Wal-Mart in the electronics section than I did from a GeekSquad Agent at Best Buy. I will never call the GeekSquad for anything and will never recommend it to anyone. They are just a bunch of young kids working minimum wage acting like they know more than anyone who talks to them. Thanks for the good lesson Best...
Read moreI brought my childâs device in that had been working my fine for years. Randomly it needs an update in order for the eSIM to work. I tried to do the update at home with Apple support. The device was stuck on verifying update. Well since i didnât have a computer, Apple advised me to take it to the geek squad for the update. Well well well.. instead of the geek squad calling and asking for my permission, they decided they it was best fit to WIPE MY ENTIRE OPERATING SYSTEM AMD IMEI number from my device. I checked in a good working phone that at least could use Safari and mobile apps, text and FaceTime when on WiFi. I left with a phone thatâs only good if I wanna use it as a FLASHLIGHT because itâs no longer any good. So at this point I have gone to my cellular service provider and I canât even use the phone as a trade in without the geek squad re downloading the operating system on iTunes and reimagining my device. Thanks for destroying all that I had left to still use my device. I would highly NOT RECOMMEND GOING TO THIS LOCATION IF YOU WANT THINGS RIGHT! But this ID the perfect place if you want to just buy something new and verify...
Read moreAre the 5 star reviews from employees? Canton Best Buy and geek squad are just there to sell things for the store. Youâll probably end up paying way more to get a cell phone there vs. Verizon/at & t not the middle man Best Buy. Every time Iâve looked at tables and computers there the college kids working had literally no clue. Even an older person just point you a direction with empty shelves. They sold me a iPad case I had to waste time and take back when they promised it would fit but I knew it wouldnât because the # but âthey know bestâ. Didnât fit and had to waste a trip. They just wanted big Black Friday sales. I could overhear them talking about who sold the most that day and things like that. All the employees I came across didnât really know anything just general stuff you yourself can read on the display lol just as long as they have someone at the door to watch stealing..even tho they are part of the big corp robbing us. Haha. Been to this store 100s of times in the...
