I submitted my survey several days ago, but did not get around to calling the store until today 01/09/25. Basically this past Sunday I placed what would be my 2nd order with you all since you opened up in my back yard. I had originally tried the Italian Sub and I was very satisfied with it, however I decided to try something different (which I don't typically do), I ordered Whole Ruthies Way. This was on Jan 6th around 7:30pm. The young lady who waited on me at the window, no problems at that point. Upon getting home and trying the sub, I didn't like it. It was tasteless to me, I tried adding more mayo, salt, pepper, still it just wasn't to my liking. I received a survey from you all and noted that I hav preserved the leftover portion of the sub and that I was going to take it back to the store to exchange it for the Italian sub that I knew I did enjoy. I work 10 hour shifts, so it wasn't until today my day off that I decided to make the exchange. I checked my email and I had not received any response on my survey submission, so I just called the store. I explained to the first person that I talked to that I wanted to exchange my sub and she forwarded me to Darion Female manager. Basically I was told by Darion that there was no way that she could do anything like what I was asking. She never asked me about the sandwich or why there was such a delay in me calling, she just honestly made me feel like I was trying to get something for nothing, and this was not the case. Had I been eating in and didn't like something I ordered, I would have been offered something different. End of story. I still have most of the uneaten sub still packaged and I informed her that I would bring it back when I came for the exchange. "Sorry Sir, there's "Nothing" I can do in this scenario. Really, bad move on her part and the Pizza Cottage if this is indeed company policy. I have been a resident of Grove City for almost 30 years and I have never been so put off by a new establishments presence during the Honeymoon period. Nothing I can do, you could have asked additional questions before shutting down the conversation, and the right thing would have been to accept back the sub I didn't like and simply exchange it for the one that I did. Wow, I guess I'm glad I figured this out early on and this is 1 customer that you don't have to worry about going forward. I have that you don't have the ability for me to upload a picture of what I was bring back to exchange, but I think Google Reviews does. Your menu seems to have alot of specialty items on it and to have a reputation of not allowing your customers to just simply not like something is not going to sit well in this small city. Since I can't upload a photo, the information from my receipt is Web Pickup, Order $29, 01/06/2025 7:30PM with my contact info and the order details. Thnx!

Read moreI ordered takeout from Pizza Cottage shortly after it opened. It was very busy and the parking lot was full. When going in for takeout make sure you go to the hostess stand not the bar. There is also a drive thru window. I picked up a pepperoni pizza with extra cheese and an order of spaghetti with meat sauce and one with signature sauce. The pizza was good, not great. It has that thick crust that most places have. I prefer a thin or a true pan crust. But I liked the spaghetti and wanted to try it again. Today I chose a side order of fettuccine, a side order of ravioli, two spaghetti dinners with extra meat sauce, and an order of garlic bread with cheese. The side order and the dinner entree are the same size, the difference is the dinners include a side salad and garlic bread. You can upgrade the bread and add ingredients to the salad at an additional cost. The meat sauce includes lots of chunks of meat with tomatoes and onions. I ordered extra sauce but there wasn't enough for my taste. The sauce makes the dish. The Alfredo sauce was good but I wished I had more of that also. The star was the ravioli. Lots of cheese filling and there was enough sauce without requesting extra. It tasted fresh, the pasta was perfect. The garlic bread was a bottom sub bun with garlic butter that was more like toast. Strangely, the garlic bread with cheese made the same way was delicious, maybe because it was the top bun. Neither was over seasoned with garlic. They weren't as busy as they were on my first visit. Staff was friendly both times. My order was ready when promised. Overall this is a great place for a good meal, not too expensive and very filling. Four stars only because I didn't love the pizza and it's...
Read moreOkay so I know this spot is having new location “growing pains” and is very busy because of being the new dining option in town. But first impressions and effort matter.
What did you all do ? Store my order in the walk in refrigerator until I could get there to pick it up. Seriously if I wanted my dinner this cold I would have ordered it as the take and bake option.
When the manager passed the order over to me and I felt the frosty pizza box in my hand I should have asked for the entire order to be made fresh. I mean a cold box on a carryout pizza order is seriously hard to do. Especially when I ordered my pie as well done.
Pizza - cold Wings - cold Calzone - cold / missing toppings Garlic Cheese Bread - Meh
Sarcasm aside about how completely abysmal this dinner experience was… time for some constructive feedback
First, I was on time for my quoted pickup time. It took 10 minutes to be handed over a obviously already paid and getting colder by the minute order.
The bartender shouldn’t be overworked waiting a completely filled bar, 3 tables and then tasked with carryout orders as well … the bartender was then understandably forced to ask the manager for help handing over paid and waiting carryout orders.
DO BETTER
Also, On those super busy nights figure out a storage option so orders don’t get cold. In my time on this earth I have never been served a colder carryout order. Box literally felt like it was stored in the walk in refrigerator or the cold outdoor...
