TLDR: Good food, good service. Would recommend.
We (party of three) walked in around 5pm on a Thursday. We were immediately greeted, seated, and brought water. Upon request for hot water, a pitcher of it was brought over, along with three tea cups.
The restaurant is large and can accommodate many patrons. There were some dragon-style archways. Very cool.
Our food was served in about 10 minutes. We ordered the Salt & Pepper Shrimp, Mongolian Beef, Veggie Lo Mein, and Tofu & Veggies. We also got a big pot of rice (in my opinion worth it if you're planning to order more than one person's serving) and, for dessert, fried sesame balls with red bean paste. The shrimp was skin on (as noted on the menu) but it was deep-fried so everything was crispy and edible. They were large pieces as well, and they were served on a bed of spring onions, leeks, and jalapenos. Taking a bit of everything in each bite was very satisfying. The Mongolian Beef was sweet and savory. The beef was thinly shredded and sautéed with julienned onions. There was a nice taste of black pepper. It was very good, and all the sauce on the bottom went well with the white rice soaking it up. The lo mein was made with spaghetti noodles cooked al-dente, not the traditional egg noodles in Chinese cuisine. That being said, it was still tasty. Just not authentic. The tofu and veggies were well cooked and smothered in a brown soy-sauce-type sauce. And, finally for dessert, the sesame balls were perfectly fried and crispy and filled with a smooth and sweet red bean paste.
We walked away stuffed. The service was attentive and welcoming. The waiter was happy to give recommendations and never tried to oversell us on more than what we could eat.

Read moreWe're from Sacramento, CA, where we have many excellent Chinese restaurants. We stopped in at Chinatown on a Wednesday late afternoon. We ordered shrimp w/lobster sauce, mixed vegetables with mushrooms, chicken lo mein, and white steamed rice. It all tasted pretty good--not the best we've ever had but not the worst--which earns 3 stars in our book. Chinatown gets a 4th star for the speedy service and the waiter service. After ordering, our food came out, literally, within minutes, piping hot. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. We did notice that the other, shorter waiter was the exact opposite, unfriendly and inattentive, so we were thankful to get the better waiter. The building itself was old and dark but clean. Bathroom was old but clean. Stopped in to Chinatown again for their Wor Wonton soup—BEST soup I’ve ever had at any Chinese restaurant! It was a supercharged wonton soup with chicken, shrimp, cabbage, baby corn, chestnuts, carrots, green onions, bamboo shoots and a couple more fresh vegetables that I can’t remember, all in a flavorful clear broth. This soup alone upgrades this...
Read moreCame here on Christmas Eve. Sure it was busy, not much else was open, but our server who had en entire room to himself did fantastic despite being slammed. We were seated, were given water right off the bat, then we ordered an appetizer of Bbq pork while waiting for a family member to arrive. The BBQ pork was good, not the best batch I've had there, but again it was super busy. Then we ordered our entrees, within a very short period of time the server was bringing out our food. This time we had sesame chicken, delicious and flavorful as always, sweet and sour pork, our least favorite was okay, kind of a ketchup flavor to the sauce, orange chicken was crunchy and tangy super good, and last was a beef dish that was very flavorful and came with tons of onions.
We enjoyed our meal, the service, and even the price was reasonable for the amount of food you're given. We will be back the next time we're craving Chinese...
