We had dinner here and sat on the outdoor patio, which had a cute, picnic-style atmosphere.
To start, we shared the spinach dip. It was flavorful and came with fresh pita chips, definitely a solid appetizer, although only big enough for two to share.
My husband was excited to try the Polish food, and he really enjoyed the Polish plate with potato-cheese and bison pierogis. Everything on his plate was delicious. He especially liked the bison pierogi and would probably get two of those next time. The sausage was another highlight for him. He also tried the local root beer, which had a black-licorice flavor he liked.
I went with the Alfredo with broccoli based on our server’s recommendation. It was pretty good, but not particularly memorable. I also had the huckleberry lemonade, which I was hoping would be house-made, but it tasted more like a syrup mix and wasn’t really worth the price.
We shared a fresh-made cannoli for dessert, and that was a great way to end the meal. It was light, crisp, and tasty.
The outdoor patio seating was nice, but there were a lot of mosquitos out, so just be aware of this if you decide to sit outside. We ended up spending more than we expected based on the higher prices, but it is a tourist town, so things will be more expensive.
Overall, it was a nice dinner out. My husband would probably give it 4 stars based on the Polish dishes, while I’d land closer to 3, since most of what I had was just okay. Worth a visit if you’re in the area and curious, or if you particularly want...
Read moreAbsolutely not recommendable. Service is alright but the food certainly isn't. I had the pierogi platter and my gf had the Polish platter. Both plates came with Sauerkraut which tasted acceptable, but I have nothing positive to say about the pierogi, kielbasa or golumpki (gołąbki).
The pierogi had nothing to do with Polish pierogi, but were fried ravioli instead. I had the bison, cheese/potato and Sauerkraut pierogi and all three were tasteless and heavily overpriced. Moreover, they upcharge ±$3 for the 'special' pierogis without telling about it at any point before receiving the final bill.
Secondly the kielbasa does not taste anything similar to a Polish sausage but appears to be a copy of a Dutch smoked sausage (rookworst) to me.
Lastly, the golumpki are nowhere near the Polish original, which is supposed to be cabbage leaf filled with minced meat and some additional buckwheat/rice for filling. Instead they are filled with which appears to be canned rice with some tomato and maybe a lost piece of meat. This was topped of with tomato sauce which appeared to be mostly ketchup.
Overall this had nothing to do with Polish cuisine. I've lived in Poland and never ate anything like this, if this restaurant were located in Poland it would be gone...
Read moreWe decided to try Miazga's for dinner. We heard great things. We were seated and waited close to 15 mins to get our order taken. We ordered a hamburger, a bison burger, a Rueben, crab stuffed mushrooms, and spinach dip.
The spinach dip was excellent. We enjoyed that. My daughter got the burger and said it was good. I got the bison burger,it was fantastic. My in-laws shared the Rueben and said it was OK. My wife got the crab stuffed mushrooms, and that's where we had issues. She took one bite, and she said it tasted fishy/uria taste. I tried it too, and I could taste it as well.
We told the waitress ( who was the owner, I found out later) about the issue, and she started to argue with my wife. She went away, and the manager came over and started to argue as well. He said that others had ordered them that night and did not have issues with the crab stuffed mushrooms. To me, that did not matter. Most people don't complain.
Other issues:
The bathroom needed to be cleaned. We told them it also needed hand soap and they ignored that.
An older woman came in and went behind the bar and acted like she worked there. My MIL started to ask her a question, and she loudly said, "I don't work here!". Why was she behind the bar?
