Just got home from spending 4 nights at the Miller Park Lodge. Worst motel experience of my entire life and I am 66. We made our reservations in February so you would think we would get a good room. We were given the worse room in the place. IF you decide to stay here even after you read this DO NOT ALLOW them to give you room 20. It should be and probably was a storage room. When you walk in the room you are faced with a window that is 6 inches from the building next door. There is a large window on the other side of the room which looks into someone's trailer home in the back yard. When you first walk in the room you feel like you are walking down hill. I was afraid the room would cave in to the room below. We had no cable tv, just a few crappy Idaho channels on the tv. There was a table and chairs on the side of the room which you couldn't use because they were leaning towards the middle of the room and the chairs were tilting so badly you could not sit on them. The small refrigerator was filthy on the outside. The coffee pot couldn't be plugged in because the cord was too short to reach anything unless you set it on the floor. There were no drawers to put clothes away. No shelves or counter space in the bathroom to lay out your toilet articles. The bed was like sleeping on a board it was so hard. The carpet was new and the bathroom was clean. The sheets were not changed our second day there. I went to the front desk and explained how horrible this room was and she said she couldn't change our room. I asked her if she had ever been in the room to see how bad it was and she said she had never been in the room. She said she gave me what we asked for since we didn't want to spend a lot of money. All I said when I made the reservation was I didn't want a room with a Jacuzzi in the middle of it, I wanted a regular king room. I didn't say I didn't want to spend a lot of money. Now that being said the four nights came to over $700 so I wasn't looking for anything cheap. We had to change rooms the last night we were there because I booked the last night at a later time. We moved and at first we thought we had a great room, it looked nice, it had cable tv. Our original room did not and we spent 3 nights there. The room was OK even though it had a huge bath tub in the middle of the room. However the air conditioner was less that a foot from the bed at eye level. As we laid in the bed It blew on us all night long and was extremely loud. If we turned it off the room got too hot. Needless to say we were happy to get out of the Miller Park Lodge this morning. We would have left after the first night but we could not get our money refunded as they took the full payment 14 days before we got there and there was no way to get a refund. The is a sign at the front desk saying that the motel is for sale and it is obvious there is not going to be anything done to it prior to a new owner taking over. I would NEVER stay here again. The coffee in the lobby in the mornings was very good. That was the only good thing. The reason I am writing this is because if I can save one family from the experience we had at this place I will be pleased. Look around find a better...
Read moreThis was our first trip to Jackson. We knew it was expensive but I guess we grossly underestimated what you don't get for almost $450 a night. First, if you are fan of no human contact digital travel you will probably love this place. There is no human interaction throughout the process of your stay. |This "lodge" is really a two level motel. I feel sorry if you are on the first level because our floor on the second level squeaked loudly with every step we took. I feel sorry if you are on the second level because schlepping your stuff up and down the stairs is a chore. |Our king room was a decent size and the bed was comfortable. There was no reading chair, but there was a small dining table with 2 chairs. The cheap plastic blinds had broken slats and didn't work very well to darken the room. The AC unit was extremely noisy but it did cool the room. When the AC came on in adjacent rooms you also hear that. |There was a relatively large refrigerator in the room, but the door could not open all the way because it got stuck on the floor. The room also had a small microwave which, combined with the dining table, implies that the room is structured for people to cook meals in their room.|There NO counter space in the bathroom so if you need to set something down the toilet seat becomes your counter. The shower flow control was plumbed backwards so what should be hot water is cold and what should be cold water is hot - a definite risk for scalding. Humorously, the actual fiberglass shower stall was installed backwards - the shower seat is under the shower head instead of across from the shower head. |Rooms in Jackson are extremely expensive but if we go back we will definitely be willing to pay more someplace else for an actual hotel room with human...
Read moreThe location was perfectly fine, within walking distance to downtown. That is the extent of my positive review. The room had a beeping noise ALL NIGHT - we looked and looked and could not find where the noise was coming from. Finally, my husband found that it was coming from inside of the gas fireplace. We did not want to try and make it stop (to get charged for something that may have been broken - which is why it may have been beeping). We slept very little all night. We had to leave the TV on all night with a high volume to mask the sound of the beeping. The beeping came every 4 seconds (that is not an exaggeration - trust me, it was so bad we were actually counting the seconds between beeps). When we reported it the next morning the gentleman in the office, he said "it was probably the batteries in the remote". Of course, that was the first thing we checked. Then he said it was probably something inside of the fireplace. If they know this is a problem, why aren't they checking for things like this before renting the room? I have followed up with Miller Park Lodge to find if there has been anything discussed for our inconvenience. The person who answered had no idea what I was talking about. He said he had been off the last couple of days. The original gentleman we spoke with, of course wasn't in - he is off for the next few days. I asked to speak with a manager; guess what, the manager is out and the guy isn't sure when the manager will be back. Very convenient excuses for not taking care of business. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED! We had the pleasure of staying at two other local hotels in Jackson that were MUCH MUCH...
