I had an absolutely outstanding experience renting a car from Thrifty. When I made my reservation, I specifically requested a four-wheel-drive vehicle over the phone, ensuring that both the front and rear wheels would be powered. When I arrived, the car was ready and waiting for me, but unfortunately, it wasnât ideal for my needs because I needed to fit my skis inside.
I was quite disappointed and mentioned this to an employee named Alex. He asked if I would be nearby the next day because a vehicle that perfectly matched my request was expected to become available. Unfortunately, I explained that I wouldnât be able to return since Iâd be staying an hour away and planned to spend the day skiing.
Thatâs when Alex did something truly remarkable. He gave me his personal phone number and asked me to send him the address of where Iâd be staying, promising that he would personally deliver the right vehicle to me the next day and swap it for the one I had. Honestly, I was skeptical, but I sent him my location as requested. Alex simply asked me to leave the keys in the car.
The next day, after a full day of skiing, I returned to find the exact car I had originally wanted waiting for me.
People donât usually expect pleasant surprises when dealing with rental car companies. At best, you get what you ordered; at worst⌠well, we all know what the worst-case scenarios can be. But this experience completely exceeded my expectations.
I am beyond grateful to Alex for going above and beyond to ensure I had the car I needed. I truly believe that big corporations often forget that customer experience is shaped by the individuals representing them. In this case, Alex completely elevated the face of the company to a level where I feel compelled to share this storyâand, without a doubt, I will be using Thrifty again in the future.
Thank you, Alex, and thank you, Thrifty, for an...
Read moreI rented a vehicle & my representative was Ryan. If I were just to review my interaction with him & with the vehicle I rented, I would give 5 stars. However, I never received an invoice/receipt from them, so I called & had it sent to me 18 days later by Amber. Ryan asked me if I wanted to add another driver when I checked in. I clearly said, âNot unless itâs free.â He said that it would be free with Triple A (we have), so I signed up an additional driver. When I finallly received my invoice, there was a charge for $135 for additional driver. I called again & spoke to Amber. She would NOT remove this charge (tried several times), which is just principally wrong, when I added the driver based on being told it was free in our circumstances. We never even used the additional driver. I ended up driving it the entire time. This Amber was hell bent on not removing it, which I found to be terribly upsetting. Supposedly, she looked up footage from mine & Ryanâs interaction, where she told me she couldnât hear the portion clearly of me saying ânoâ to the additional driver if a fee was involved & went on to tell me he was discounting me from $13-$9/day & that he said that. I am here to tell you that he did NOT say that. He clearly said it was free with Tripke A. She didnât care what I said. She just wasnât going to do it. Lastly, I asked for her supervisorâs name & she told me her name was Nikki. I asked how I could reach Nikki & she told me I could email her. I was unable to jot it down because I was driving at the time. She said she would email it to me, which, of course, she never did. I am now going to file a dispute with their corporate office as I am not wealthy. I will not go down without a fight! Very disheartening! :((( BTW, I read the response to my review & was encouraged when they asked me to use their link to discuss further. Of course, the link...
Read moreWe usually donât write public negative comments for small businesses but we are making an exception with Dollar Rental in Jackson Hole, WY. We had an idillic vacation: Grand Teton, Yellowstone, Bozeman. It was one of the most fantastic trip we have had in decades. All was perfect until today when we went to return the rental car to Dollar in Jackson Hole. All those beautiful memories disappeared as our son left behind his gaming electronic device in the back seat of the rental car. As we were unpacking our suitcases under rain at 8:30am, we were rushing to get into the shuttle to go to the airport, the device was left behind. Our bad. We remembered about it as we were driven to the airport and we started to call the offices. Who appeared to be Dollarâs franchise owner, who 20 minutes before took the car, was now dismissive and contemptuous to our plight to look for the device before we left the town. All our pleads felt on deaf ears. She even had the audacity to say that she couldnât find the device (even though we KNOW FOR SURE IT WAS THERE as our son was playing with it right before we returned the car) as it has âmysteriouslyâ disappeared between the moment we left the rental place and we arrived at the airport, about half an hour. We called the police and filed a complaint. Itâs under âinvestigationâ and when I called back for the fifth time and told them about the call to the police, another representative was totally unmoved, as they know there are no real consequences for being callous in dealing with the public. We gave them one star because there is no option for zero star. Donât get us wrong, itâs not about the device. Itâs about the awful experience and lack of empathy towards other human beings. Donât waste your time throwing business their way. Go somewhere else. You...
