*Update: Came back 2 years after our first visit to have a meal this time. The food was amazing. I see why it was just as crowded this time as it was the first time. First off, save room for dessert. Specifically, the creme brulee cheesecake. Who knows how long it will be on the menu. My friend said it sounded good but she loves chocolate cake so she ordered that. She agreed that her cake was good but the cheesecake, phenomenal. It might be the best cheesecake I've ever had. Anyway, I had the baked haddock for dinner...SO good. Onion rings and pureed butternut squash were yummy too. Drinks delicious! Our server had been there over 30 years and was fabulous. She even brought me a pair of reading glasses because I had forgotten mine! Definitely a must go when in town! *Original: This place was highly recommended by all the locals we talked to. It was a hopping little place and had a fun, friendly atmosphere inside. We stopped in just for a drink but I was the pizzas are delicious. Holds a lot of people but looks like reservations are accepted and recommended. We snagged a seat at the the bar though.

A quaint Irish pub in the town of Jackson NH. On the outside it looks like a multifamily house, inside hosts many different dining areas and seating choices including a 4 season deck for dining. The decor was no doubt Irish themed with old time pictures, flyers, and other decorations. The waitress was really sweet. The menu was probably the most surprising because it did not have the tradional Irish fare that I would have expected. I didn't see corned beef or Irish stew but instead seafood dishes including quahogs and haddock along with an Italian section of foods on the menu. There is a kids menu and the prices are very reasonable. I ordered the sausage lasagna and it was delish. Came with a side of garlic bread. My son and I split some mozzarella sticks and he ended up with a burger. He is a Pickler eater and he loved the burger. My lasagna was amazing. I dont think I have ever ordered lasagna outside of an Italian restaurant but the sausage in it was nice! We also picked up some Shannon Door swag as we do frequent this area often. I would recommend this restaurant pub to any of my friends.

This pub seems like a popular local hangout and was recommended from the AirBnB we were staying in. Seat yourself was a little unusual but the reasoning quickly became apparent as the only waitress in the place greeted us after 5 or 10 minutes with "sorry, I'm the only one here". She actually did a good job keeping up with the volume of patrons and the only downside was her visible stress and frustration. We started with the Broccoli Cheddar poppers which were really good. I then had the Shepard's Pie and she had the Manicotti. The Shepard's Pie was ok, not the best I've ever had but certainly not the worst. The Manicotti, I thought, was actually decent, if a small portion. I give 3 stars because nothing wowed me-not the food, not the service and not the atmosphere. It had a semi-Irish pub feel but just enough to make it an Ok experience. Here for a couple days and this will be our only visit to this local favorite.

We have frequented New Hampshire for many Summers now. My oldest daughter is 27 my youngest 24 my oldest daughter lives in Maine my birthday was on September 5th I own timeshare so we met in the middle and stayed near North Conway to celebrate my birthday with my granddaughter. We had been to this establishment many times in the past, although this night was so different. When we first started going there when we read the menu, and realized the people were from South Boston originally, we were like wow we've grown up in South Boston now we've moved to a suburb 20 minutes away from South Boston that was many years ago even though they still advertise it on their menu they are not from the South Boston I came from, not anymore. This night 9/15 /20 they had a show going on out back which it seemed like an Elton John impersonator. I understand maybe there were tickets sold to this I'm not sure, as well as then they didn't have enough staff for the inside. My oldest daughter had been there before us we were meeting her there we had gotten held up by the time we got there, they had been there for 2 hours we had told them to start without us where they have a 3-year-old in case they had to leave. The waitress came over took their order and they sat there for 45 minutes my granddaughter was falling asleep waiting for her food. As you came into the place it asked you to wait to be seated by the outdoor hostess and we did, and she come in & it was my husband myself my younger daughter and her boyfriend they were all being brought to the table, then the owner starts chasing me down and then another waitress where are you going what are you doing as my granddaughter is yelling out Grammy. I explained to them that my family was ahead of me being seated and they looked very upset. My daughter who had been waiting for her check for a while had tried to explain to me what was going that it was very different than when we had been there in the past, and how rude everyone seemed. They finally got their check pd it & left. A waitress came up to us she said well we are so busy tonight and we are understaffed. I understand that especially with this pandemic going on but, they could have been a little nicer about it told us they will understand if we wanted to wait we could if not it was ok but, that was not the way it was presented to us it was very rude. You could see if you were a local you were treated much different better which, I do understand, but you should realize that your tourist are the ones who make up a a lot of your revenue, and we are the ones who keep coming back year after year even though your locals do come back quicker than we do we have recommended your restaurant to many people, but not anymore not after the way we were treated we will never ever eat there again. After 10 mins we ordered a drink, and by the way we got 1 menu for the 4 of us I understand with the pandemic, but 2 would have been great. The waitress was so rude and then didn't even come back to ask us if we wanted a to eat for at least 15 to 20 minutes so we told her we would just take the check and she kindly handed it over quicker than anything I seen that night from that restaurant. I don't know if they were just having a bad night but I have never been treated so rudely by this establishment in all of our years going there we have T-shirts we have purchased from there in the past. I will never ever eat nor drink there again and I'm sorry because we recommend many people and I will never recommend them or anyone else to go there again. If I could give you a zero star I would but there's just no option. There is no excuse for the way your staff acted even/especially during this pandemic and, I hear that the gentleman that was chasing us down was the owner. I'm not sure if he was or not, but the whole thing was so ridiculous. Like I said I will never eat nor recommend your restaurant again, if you're understaffed, and having an event at your restaurant maybe you shouldn't have let the general public enter instead of making us...

THEY CALL THIS IRISH FOOD? Let me start by saying I am not one of those uppity jerks who expects 5-star food. I quite enjoy casual pubs like this one. Let me also say that this place has so much potential to be great. Sadly my experience was not good because the food was bad. PART ONE: I ordered cottage pie and I expected minced meat, peas, carrots, mashed potatoes on top, spices and some gravy..... What I got was minced meat that had no spices (very bland) with mashed potatoes on top. There were no other vegetables. There was no spice or any kind of seasoning. There was no gravy. The minced meat was dry like sand. The mashed potatoes were like the kind that you buy in a box and mix with water. I had to go out of my way to ask for gravy and although our server was nice, she brought back some sort of watered down red pasta type sauce instead of traditional dark brown / beef gravy. I traveled with 2 other people who had a similar experience. Overall the food was very disappointing. PART TWO: I was served warm beer..... should I say more? SUMMARY: This place has so much potential to be a great Irish restaurant. I see all these reviews praising their pizza which makes me wonder why they brand themselves as Irish when clearly they do Italian pizza better. The servers did their jobs well and the general atmosphere was very nice. To bring this review to an end..... I wish the food was prepared better. Simply adding a few vegetables and using better quality fresh potatoes would have made a world...

My family and I are on vacation and chose this place for an evening out on our last night. Understandibly, it was busy, but NOT crazy busy. But, we were told a 10 minute wait, and waited. As time went by, the host was in contact with me via phone telling me just a few more minutes, as they had to accomodate our party specifically for two of us in wheelchairs. At the 45 minute mark of waiting, and being told “just a few more minutes”, we called stating our concern. The manager Keith came out and asked what the problem was, and we stated our frustration with repeatedly being told first just 10 minutes, to just “a few more minutes” which turned to nearly an hour, and he kept accusing us of basically not putting ourselves on the waiting list. But truth be told, they just couldn’t accommodate us and likely forgot about us while we gave themthe benefit of the doubt and waited almost an hour for them. He became short and irritable with us stating our patron concerns and ultimately asked us to just leave. As he started walking away, he mumbled to his host who accompanied him outside to “CROSS THEM OFF THE LIST!”

This behavior was incredibly poor. Not a way a restaurant manager should handle a situation!!!!! So in short, if you are in a wheelchair, don’t come here. And also, if you are told a certain wait time and it extends and you call questioning your concern, Keith will tell you to leave. So, don’t waste your time. The Wildcat Tavern down the road is...
