I really wanted to like this place and the food looked great as well as the reviews. When we got there, the girl seemed dumbfounded, even though we got there after opening time with a reservation. She took forever taking our order. We were a party of six and 2 of us Had chicken and waffles, 1 of us had tres leches pancakes and 1 of us had plain pancakes and yet all they brought were 2 small 1oz dip cups of syrup which were refrigerated cold. We asked for more syrup and she disappeared for five minutes and came back with 1 more dip cup. after 10 minutes we asked for more syrup and 10 minutes after that she came back again with one small dip cup. I guess the manager overheard us talking about the cold syrup and tiny amounts they would provide so he came over to ask how we were doing and made a comment about her having to go downstairs for the syrup. We were there at opening time during breakfast and yet they kept the syrup in the fridge downstairs. I ordered a shakshuka dish and it only came with 3 small slices bread (think 3 small slices of a baguette) so I basically had a bowl of tomato sauce. Worst part was when they brought my daughterās pancakes I asked my sister if the plate was supposed to looked cracked. I lifted the pancakes to show her and the plate was cracked clean in 2 pieces. My husband had to go to the bar to tell them and all they did was give him 2 salad plates. No one asked what happened or offered to replaces the pancakes since who knows if a chip could be in there and no one even came for the broken plate. Again I think the manager over heard and came over 10 mins later we showed him the broken plate and ll he said was ty for moving it out the way. Then came back 5 mins later to ask what happened and go on some rant about the plates being purchased in turkey for their durability ā not that he was blaming usā at the end of the meal he offered dessert on them which we declined to which he responded āok, maybe weāll do something next timeā ā¦ā¦.I donāt think there will be a next time. Not to mention we ordered a coffee and they did not have any regular sugar! Just splenda,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI came in on a weekday during happy hour with a couple of coworkers. Overall, the service wasn't bad, but the experience left a lot to be desired.
We started with drinks, and right away multiple cocktails were unavailable because they were out of ingredients. My friend ordered a cosmo (initially confirmed) but then a few minutes later we were told they couldn't make it after all. The bartender did offer an alternative and made it right, and to his credit, the presentation of the drinks (I had the rosemary mule) was excellent.
Unfortunately, the food was a big letdown. Presentation was great across the board, but taste was severely lacking. We ordered six small plates: the jerk lamb dumpling, crackling mac & cheese, chicken bites, warm heirloom cornbread, deviled eggs, and candied bacon. My friend also ordered the lobster tagliatelle.
The deviled eggs were the only thing that tasted decent. Everything else completely missed the mark. The cornbread was dry and had an odd flavor (almost like hookah smoke). The dumplings had none of the jerk flavor it promised. The chicken bites were just crunchy, without seasoning. The candied bacon sounded amazing on paper, but wasn't enjoyable at all. And that damn lobster tagliatelle was so salty it was inedible!
I spent nearly $200 including with my two other friends in this economy, on what turned out to be one of the most disappointing meals I've had in a long time. The only redeeming elements were the service, my cocktail, and the deviled eggs...which honestly aren't hard to get right.
If you're looking for an Instagrammable dinner with pretty plating and don't care about flavor, this place might be for you. But if you actually want to enjoy your food, I'd recommend looking elsewhere. The ambiance was nice I didnāt look at the rest of the restaurant but the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI realllyyyy wanted to like this place. My bf and I came here for Brunch today, a Sunday. There was maybe only 3 tables with patrons when we came in. So, not busy (it is Juky 4th weekend). They handed us tablet Menus which was cool and different. Nice vibe, cute.
We waited 10 minutes after being seated by the hostess before any sort of service person paid any attention to us. And the first thing he says when he finally does is āare you ready to order?ā No hello my name is. No how are you today. No can I start you off with drinks. We were so taken aback by the silent treatment and then the quick āready to order?ā That our shocked faces to him made him say āoh you need more time.ā
I said no that we knew what we wanted. We both were so annoyed and hungry that we didnt bother with drinks at this point so I ordered us the ricotta honey app and my entree. and then for some reason the waiter says āgreatā and starts to walk away without taking my bfs entree order.
When he walked away we considered telling him nevermind and leaving but - again weāre hungry.
The ricotta and honey was just ok. Only flavor we tasted was lemon.
Then my potatoes hash was good and seasoned, bacon too. Eggs bland. And the my boyfriends duck hash for some reason tasted so different with almost no flavor.
At this point weāre only 35min here and so we took some more bites and decided weād rather leave, add seasoning and sit at home in the AC. So we paid and left.
Mind you our waiter never checked on us once after receiving our meals. And then passed our table 3 times before we got him to get us boxes and check.
Wish it didnt go like this. Was...
