Good food, never had problem with it. Staff behind the counter is very nice, all the ladies I have come across. Reason for this low rating is the Manager/Franchise Owner. Horrible attitude, very rude and a perfect example of how even a good business model like this one can collapse under horrible management. We have gone in multiple times in the past two years including on busy days like Diwali, lovely staff of ladies and a gentlemen behind the counter have been wonderful while taking the order or billing. I always try to avoid Mr. Manager. Called in to place a pickup order today, he answered-rudely put me on hold for 3 min 54 secs while I hear him gossiping “oh i live so far, she left and I had to stay” “where is the tea” (atleast put me on mute) then proceeds to HANG UP. I called back and said nicely “Hi i called to place a pickup order and was put on hold and eventually hung up on”. He proceeds rudely WHATS THE ORDER. I tell my order which has 1 serving of Jalebi, and was told by him that is not acceptable to be ordered on phone since it’s mithai AND DID NOT TAKE THE REST OF MY ORDER. To be noted: they place Jalebis in pre-made boxes so it’s not like it’ll go bad. Also to be noted, I HAVE PLACED THE SAME PICKUP ORDER TWICE BEFORE and the lovely ladies always take the order and tell me it’ll be ready in 15 mins. I walked over to the store, first in line and Mr. Manager couldn’t care less about helping me. I’m trying to make eye contact or raise my hand, but no he is walking around the restaurant or is busy on his phone. Finally there is a line behind me and he proceeds to CALL OVER THE MAN BEHIND ME. Are you kidding me? I tell the man behind I’m waiting and he respectfully lets me go first. Mr. Manager at the counter is rude as ever and does not acknowledge me, i state my order and ask a question which i have to repeat twice before he answers me in a very annoying attitude. I have not come across a person of his age/position in the restaurant business be so arrogant and rude. I feel bad for the staff if he behaves with them similarly. We have never had a good experience with him around, but usually the rest of the staff is so helpful and we don’t have to deal directly with him except for paying. Bad experience but food made it...
Read moreThis is an update from my previous review. At this particular location, I tried multiple things and went multiple times. I was one of the first customers who went on the first or second day after opening. Initially, it was good, clean food and quick service. But in last some months I saw that quality and service gone bad. Sweets, chaat, paneer and some snacks quality really bad. I attached one pic Dahi Bhalla. Nothing added or taste or sweet or anything. Not first time. Don't know the reason, management changed or staff. There are some good restaurants nearby if possible, try that.
----///---------Old ------ I went here to try food , first time at Bikanervala, Jersey city.
Space: it’s spacious and the decoration and lighting are trendy and young style.
Menu: they have lot of options for different style and items. Check the pics I attached.
Service: They are quick. Generally takes 15-20 mins to complete order. Reservations: Not required. Cleanliness: space - tables and floor are clean and inside kitchen also it’s clean. Just some people wear only one glove and one hand just like that. Food: two items I ordered, Bhel and Paneer Tikka Masala dry. Both items looks good and taste fresh and perfect as how it should be. Particularly paneer was...
Read moreThe chaats in this place is really good. Very delicious. But it’s certainly less quantity compared to the Jersey standards.
The falooda was delicious, but it was served in a flat plate. Wherever on this earth is falooda served on a plate and not a cup?
The Indo-Chinese is a big no no. The paneer chilli is ok to some extent, but the noodles is a disaster.
We often go here to pick up Bengali sweets. The sweets are good (not as good as what you get in India, but tasty enough to satisfy your cravings).
They need to figure out a way to weigh sweets the actual way it’s done is sweet stalls. Right Initially the lady at the counter asks you how many pounds of assorted sweets you need - I mean we wouldn’t know how much each sweet would weigh to tell them the exact weight of sweets we would need right? If you tell her we are not sure coz we don’t know the weight of the sweets, she sulks and raises her brows. Each time we’ve been lucky that someone else from inside has come to help us with the order and charge us according to the final weight. But the girl behind the counter, really needs to learn her job - assorted sweets are weighed after the sweets are picked and the weight cannot be...
