Dunkin' — Restaurant in Jonesborough

This place doesn't get a full 5-star review based on one thing: they're right down the street from my FAVORITE coffee spot, The Corner Cup. That being said, I almost gave it one LESS star than I did because I am not a fan of donuts. I am especially not a fan of DD's round, doughy treats. No, my curious friends, this review has nothing to do with this company's namesake. But everything to do with what you're dunking IN. I used to hate their coffee. On many a Snapchat Story rant, I complained each time I gave their caffeinated beverages another chance and even went as far as to say that their bean beverages tasted like "mildly coffee flavored water". But then I was recommended by a friend to try their almond milk. Mind you, I am neither intolerant of milk nor am i vegan, but I just love the taste of almond milk. Suddenly their macchiatos tasted somewhat palatable. I will even go as far as to say, beside mom and pop shop corner cup places i prefer, they have the BEST almond milk of any coffee provider i frequent. Add an extra shot or two? Suddenly I was feeling the appropriate amount of energy. BUT THEN they upped the ante again! In November, Dunkin Donuts began selling better quality espresso and revamped their entire coffee menu. Most importantly, the base layer off all things specialty drink, their espressos are being made in state-of-the-art machines and from quality bean. I didn't know if I believed the hype until I tried my regular drink of choice - minus the old shots of coffee goodness and in with the NEW new - and I was made a firm believer on the spot. I will say, price-wise, you're no better off going here that a Starbucks if that is more convenient for you. BUT the lines move fast, the employees are /usually/ pleasant and quick, and the entire experience from menu board to window is 1000x more pleasant that any Starbucks I have ever been to. This is the worth it winner as far as fast, dont have to get out of your car, grab-and-go places. (I will say, for MUCH better coffee...if you feel like getting out of the car? It is obvious to me by now that the recipe for the Dunkin Donut coffee blend has changed for the worse. Over the past year or so, the coffee has changed considerably. I stop at Dunkin Ds occassionally as a treat. Five years ago, I loved their coffee. Not so much anymore. In fact after my most recent stop I came to the decision that I would no longer treat myself to routine coffee at Dunkin Donuts. I suppose a corporate tax decision has been made to reduce quality and increase prices and profits just like the decisions being made all over corporate America board rooms. I'm not playing. My brand loyalty lasts only as long as the quality of the product, which in this case and most others in the country has changed to the level which has driven.me away.I am taking my business to establishments which want my business by providing good products at a reasonable price and not simply relying on my patronage do to their past performance. EDIT(2020) Lady that they have added to 3rd shift recently is AWESOMENESS she is sweet kind and she knows how to make a drink 😍

EDIT (2023) (Holly still is an amazing part of this place ♥️) .... I'm updating my review the wonderful lady I was talking about 9 months ago her name is Holly❣️ I know im not alone when I say she is the BIG REASON myself and people keep coming back to this dunkin donuts! I've been coming to this store for years and I've seen lots of people come and go on all shifts and have to say she's the best she's super nice always makes drinks perfecto!!! And even when she's slammed she always has same attitude even goes as far as remembering exactly what me and my husband order and we switch it up sometimes she still remembers 😆🫶! She is amazing to her customers! she's basically the picture of what customer service is supposed to be!.... They are lucky to have her 😍 I literally come to this dunkin bc of her❣️

Also not saying whole crew there isn't great bc there is a few shift leaders and 3rd shift bakers that do an amazing job as well but im awful...
