Ordered the OG, non-spicy, chicken. Didn't realize that meant bland, flavorless, overcooked chicken that uses a batter typically reserved for fried fish. Then I also got the crinkle fries, which were a undercooked and flaccid pile of disappointment. To top it all off, $15 is way too much to pay for this mediocre of a meal when there are places you can get a full chicken dinner for $17. Only good thing was the pickles. Rest of the meal was terrible. Don't waste your time on the "normal" place here in the sea of food nouveau. In fact, if you want a normal meal, don't bother with any place in the building.
Edit Per the response from the owner, Yes, I've reviewed fast food with 4&5 star reviews, but if you read them, you'll see I credit them as being exactly what they are, being clean, and being fast. I review based on what is expected of a place, and Mother Clucker is a mediocre meal in a sea of much better places. They don't stand out, and they fail to produce quality even with their VERY limited menu. If you can't do the 1 staple well, and then butcher your sides, then you're not...
Read moreDuring this evening's visit I had the chicken sandwich with the kick it up sauce and crinkle fries. The sandwich is huge and the portion of fries also huge. There are six levels of spicy sauce, I chose the third level "kick it up", and I would have to say that the amount of spice for the level 3 of 6 was pretty hot. Halfway through the sandwich I was sweating and my mouth was ablaze. I'm no lightweight when it comes to spice and I can't imagine what levels four through six are like. I'm pretty sure that if you chose level six you would perish in a pile of ashes. Everything was extremely tasty and well cooked however I'm leaving four stars for these reasons. The sandwich is extremely messy to eat and self-destructs about halfway through. There is so much going on with the spicy sauce the juice from the sauerkraut and pickles that the bun just can't maintain the integrity to hold itself together. Joshua and the level of spice is quite deceiving, level one is no spice, level two says some spice and level three says kick it up. So maybe it's only a level two spice since level...
Read moreI am ashamed to note how many times I visit this place in a week. I love it. The food is fresh and delicious. The fries have thus special seasoning. I can’t put my finger on what it is. I always get the sandwich is slaw. It’s so good. I tried the cookies and cream milkshake. So good! They were nice enough to amend the recipe to my liking. Outside of the food, the staff is so friendly. There is a guy there that greets me with the biggest welcome. It feels so personal and inviting. That’s what most restaurants are missing. I’ve tried the wings and they’re great. For some reason, I have trouble removing the meat from the bone, but that’s probably user error. I have had the Comeback Sandwich so many times and it’s so delicious. I actually will probably get it tonight. I have tried the varying sauce degrees. I didn’t feel anything until about the 4 one down, BUT I have a super high tolerance to heat/spice. I recommend this...
