Sept 2022 ~ wow what a night!! Hosted a ladies night in the VIP area in the mid evening hours. You can reserve it ahead of time at no charge before it changes into a club at 10p. Our server Becky was beautifully excellent!! She served our group of 11 well. As soon as someone new came in she was on top of Getting them drinks and taking their order. Really appreciated her attentiveness!
The food wasn’t as good as usual. The crème brûlée was mushy. They replaced the chili with chicken tortilla soup. I hate that I could eat it with a fork it was that solid. The bruschetta was yummy of course the cornbread bites were also! My lemon drop drinks were great! I like that if you don’t find a drink on the menu, they can make pretty much whatever you want.
Great music, loved the VIP area, and got some excellent pics! Thanks Jerrod for your help in getting the reservation made!!
Feb. 2022 ~ a quiet Sat night but it was also around 7p so kinda early. Same for next door at the Scarlett Room. The food and drink were in point. Crème brûlée was 😘!
Update Dec. 2021 ~Still chic, fabulous, & on point! Said I would come back dressed up so we did! Friendly waitstaff as last time. Found out there is lots of incredible art for sale in a room there. Gorgeous options!!!
Yummy food, awesome ambience, friendly servers, tasty libations, all while feasting your eyes on cool scenery & moving art! I like that the other ‘ experience’ is there so u can step right over to explore that side! Tons on indoor & outdoor seating. Def would go back. Service was good. Parking stinks but that’s the bottoms for u😇We went right at 4p when they opened. Wasn’t a dress code & not packed but started picking up after 5p. Def will come back...
Read moreI am deeply disappointed with my experience at The Society. My fiancé and I booked this venue for our wedding reception, and after planning extensively around their space—including sending save-the-dates, printing formal invitations, and purchasing decorations tailored specifically to their venue—we received an email stating that they were canceling all events due to planned renovations.
While they provided an eight-month notice, this does not excuse the lack of foresight or consideration for the financial and emotional impact on their clients. Weddings are not easily rescheduled or relocated, and this cancellation has left us scrambling to find a comparable venue, which is significantly more expensive. Returning our deposit was not a gesture of goodwill; it is the bare minimum of what is required and does not even begin to address the substantial costs we now face.
What is most upsetting is that The Society continued to accept bookings while knowing that such a major renovation was on the horizon. This reflects poor planning and disregard for their clients' trust and investment in their services. I also reached out to express my concerns and request further support, but the response I received was dismissive, failing to take accountability for the disruption they caused.
I cannot recommend The Society to anyone planning a milestone event. Their handling of this situation has been unprofessional, inconsiderate, and deeply frustrating. Future clients should be aware of the potential risks of trusting them with such...
Read moreI’ve been two Society two times now and unfortunately neither experience was a good one. First, we reserved a table for my birthday last July and got bottle service. Everything was fine until we realized that the air had gone out the night before and it was so hot we eventually left. We were not upset about the air going out as we understand things happen. We were more frustrated that this information was withheld from us. It was the middle of summer and just a miserable experience overall. The second was last night and definitely the last time my friends and I will go to this bar. We reserved a table for my friends birthday. Our reservation was at 10pm and when we arrived it was apparent that they were disorganized and not prepared to seat the multiple parties who’d reserved tables in advance. As we’re waiting in line the bouncer came outside and was extremely aggressive. He was yelling at everyone to stand to one side. I made a comment that he didn’t need to be so rude and he proceeded to threaten and scream at me. Asking me if I ”wanted to come inside or not” and if I wanted to “see how rude he could really be”. Not the way you’d want to be treated before you go in and spend $500-1000. On top of that, half our party was running late and had to wait over half an hour to convince the management to let them in as the same disrespectful bouncer refused to let them inside. Overall just a terrible experience and there are plenty of other cool bars in KC that don’t disrespect women and their...
