Recently, I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Phanh Ky Asian Noodle House in the vibrant heart of Katy Asian Town, and let me tell you, it was a meal that left me craving more. From the moment I stepped in, the warm, bustling atmosphere set the stage for what turned out to be a truly unforgettable culinary adventure. I opted for their Seafood Rice Noodle and Egg Noodle Combo, and it was nothing short of a flavor explosion that swept me off my feet.
The dish arrived steaming hot, a generous tangle of silky rice noodles and springy egg noodles swimming in a fragrant, savory broth that had been simmering for hours—24, to be exact, as their menu proudly boasts. Each spoonful was a treasure trove of plump shrimp, tender squid, and delicate fish slices, all perfectly cooked and bursting with the briny sweetness of the sea. The broth itself was a masterpiece—rich, aromatic, and layered with natural spices that danced on my palate, balanced by the subtle crunch of fresh bean sprouts and a sprinkle of herbs that added a bright, zesty kick. The combo of textures—chewy noodles, succulent seafood, and crisp veggies—was pure perfection in every bite.
But the real showstopper? The egg rolls. Oh, those egg rolls! Golden, crispy, and shattering with every bite, they were stuffed to the brim with a savory filling—think seasoned pork, crunchy veggies, and just the right hint of spice. Dipped in their tangy, fish sauce-laced nuoc cham, they were an addictive delight that I couldn’t get enough of. Each bite was a symphony of crunch and flavor, making them the ideal companion to my noodle feast.
The service was quick and friendly, and the cozy vibe of Phanh Ky made it feel like a little slice of Southeast Asia right in Katy. The portions were hearty, the ingredients fresh, and the love poured into every dish was unmistakable. My seafood noodle combo and those irresistible egg rolls turned a simple meal into a mouthwatering experience I’ll be dreaming about until my next visit. If you’re in Katy Asian Town, Phanh Ky Asian Noodle House is a must-stop for a soul-warming,...
Read moreAs soon as you walk in, you know you are going to have to wait. I came here around noon on a Sunday, you need to write your name down on a list before you are seated. Very limited seating, and very tight space. Although it was very busy, they were able to get people in and out within 10-25 minutes. Food comes out fast and there is so much staff that you can get whatever you need within minutes.
I got the S1 dry and my boyfriend got the S1 soup.
The S1 us basically vermicelli noodles and thin egg noodles with minced pork, chicken, pork, shrimp, and soup on the side or in the same bowl. The dry version was much more flavorful. I ended up getting extra sauce because that sauce was delicious. The sauce was like a sweet and sour but with a darker brown color. It had it's unique taste, kinda like hoison? Hard to explain. The crispy mini shrimp and dried onions added texture and extra saltiness that made the dish so wonderful. The soup version was good, but needed more flavor. I ended up adding jalepenos and Chile oil. Very hearty but I wouldn't get this again unless it was dry. The pork ribs were cooked perfectly. They were tender and flavorful.
Definitely a great place to try. With these 2 dishes and a Vietnamese iced coffee, my total ended up being $25 without top. This is a bit on the pricier side compared to Chinatown but the location is the reason why. Great service from entrance to exit. Get the dry dish!!! Definitely...
Read moreI love coming here because they open at 10am meanwhile other places open later around 11am. Opening an hour earlier really does make a difference especially when I need to leave town early in the morning. I grab a quick bite from here and can be on the road by or even before lunch traffic hits. Every time I come here I order the broth hu tieu and depending on my mood, I eat whatever type of noodles. Normally I order the combo of clear rice and egg noodles. Some days I rather the thin egg noodles over the thick or vice versa. I like them all. The broth is always fresh and tastes flavorful. They are also generous with their protein, but their veggies have not been great. The bean sprouts were not fresh and had a slimy layer on them. However I love their pickled peppers they keep at the table with the other condiments. It’s so spicy and adds just the right amount of kick in the broth. I like to eat them after a few bites because it really does make a difference. Overall, this is a good spot for hu tieu! Fast, reasonably priced, and...
