It's been a LONG time since I've had good Thai food. Mostly because I moved to Gig Harbor and good Asian food is hard to come by. I met my siblings here for lunch. My first time, but my sister's 3rd time. I was amazed at how good everything was! Like I said, I haven't had good Thai food in a long time, so I didn't really feel like Thai food. My brother, who has been here countless times, picked this place because he said it was fast. We got there at 12:45pm, all of our orders came by 1:08pm, and paid at 1:25pm! Our food: 1) complimentary bowl of delicious chicken broth with a little bit of rice, chicken, veggies It helped whet our appetite! 2) fresh garden rolls The dipping sauce was delicious and the rolls were super fresh! 3) chicken wings 6 pieces, cooked to perfection, and delicious sweet Thai chili sauce. 4) phad kee mao with shrimo My brother orders this dish every time - and I understand why! So yummy. 5) red curry with seafood & phad thai add-on The curry was 2* - I think i got most of the spice with my first bite 😅 the rest was good. Their shrimp from the phad kee mao and red curry was cooked to perfection! Quite generous too. It came to about $27/person, but it was honestly worth it. We ate everything there and it was delicious - no leftovers. The staff was pleasant and the waitress was knowledgeable in all the items. They have earned the place of "my favorite Thai restaurant" in all of Washington. Cannot find better Thai food!

May 2025 Update: Banyan Tree is as great today as my last review. Whenever I have the chance, I pick up some of their fresh rolls with the excellent cilantro sauce, delicious. You can also buy containers of the sauce as well. —————————- By far one of the best Thai restaurants I've been to, bar none. Located in Kent Station, it would be easy to dismiss this nondescript establishment, but don't cheat yourself. My friends and I went for lunch and weren't disappointed. The service was great and the food...the FOOD was delicious. For appetizers we ordered the Fresh Garden Rolls which replaced the traditional plum sauce with a delicious house herb sauce. It was so good I bought two bottles, one for me, one for my friend. We also ordered the Saku Sai Moo, tapioca balls with marinated pork. I don't eat meat, so I can't testify it's taste,, but my friends raved over them. For our main meal, we ordered the spicy eggplant and sizzling duck. Again, I can't speak for the duck, but let's just say the bones were laid bare. The spicy eggplant was wonderful, not too salty and not too spicy. We ordered three stars, but I think I could have gone to four...and I'm not into foods that are too spicy. Overall, I'll be back...in spite of the distance from Seattle, this place is well worth the trip.

Great experience! We came at 4:30 pm on a Saturday for dinner and it wasn't busy. Large parking area shared between many Kent Station businesses but we didn't have trouble finding a spot. We made a reservation for our party of 6 and wouldn't have needed it as early as it was, pretty empty when we arrived. Their full menu is viewable on their website online. Service was on point, drinks never emptied, and everyone loved the food. We had a total of four appetizers, calamari, prawns in a blanket, and x2 of the chicken satay (only $6 each thanks to happy hour pricing). I had the Khao Soi with beef and it was fantastic, with plenty leftover, just as good later. We'd come for my mother-in-law's birthday and they brought her fried ice-cream, that was wonderful, on the house. Our total for x6 meals and x4 appetizers, plus 20% gratuity, automatically applied, was $176 & change. For under $30 a piece out the door, excellent value I'd say. This didn't include any alcoholic beverages as those were paid for separately by those who drank. Beautiful restaurant, music was not too loud to converse and service was friendly. We'll definitely be back. Highly recommended.

I’ll start off by saying the food was VERY good. However, the server’s confusion really ruined the experience for me. My colleague and I were at banyan tree during our lunch break, and we were paying separately.

They billed us combined - no big deal, we just asked the server to redo the bill so that we each pay for our own meal.

He came back with a bill for each of us, but split my colleage’s crispy vegetable rolls between us, assuming they were shared. They weren’t.

At this point I would have been happier to just take the half I was charged in cash from my friend. That isn’t what happened though, because my friend pointed out the error and the server reran the bill again, which only made things worse. I noticed my bill was $7 higher than it ought to have been. Upon closer inspection, he had charged my card with my colleague’s meal and my colleague’s card with my meal.

This next part isn’t the restaurant’s fault - so my colleague used Apple Pay Cash to send me $4. Im not sure how he came to this figure. Maybe he tipped higher and somehow calculated my deficit based on his post-tip total? All I know is I paid $20+ for a $12 item, and got $4 back, effectively having paid $16+ for a $12 item.

Not going back with other people if we are paying separately. Too much confusion and doing without thinking

[edit] almost forgot to mention - the food (my Panang pork curry, anyway) was delicious, but the portion of meat was WAY too small for the amount of curry or the price. I might add that the pork was of EXCELLENT quality, though, which made me happy, but still shaving off one star. The other missing stars are for the billing confusion. Most Thai places in the area, I have to say, tend to use poor quality meat, or even meat near the end of its shelf life in their curries. I think because the strong fragrance of spices and seasoning in the curry mask the lower quality ingredients to an extent. So it was a pleasant surprise to bite into tender, juicy, and...

A friend and I flew into Seattle for a trip to the Olympic Peninsula. We chose this place for lunch based on the reviews and they didn't steer us wrong. We were there around 2pm so it wasn't very busy. The waiter brought us a chicken broth based soup which was the perfect thing after a long flight. He told us it was called Morning Soup and was only for eat in customers and slightly different every day. If I lived in the area I'd eat here all the time just for the soup.

My friend got pad Thai which was incredible. I tried the Heavenly Beef and made it a combo w noodles, which I'd recommend. I'd never had anything like it before. The beef was so tender with complex flavors.

The waiter came by and asked how we were which led to a lovely conversation. He was friendly and answered all our questions about the dishes. It was obvious he was proud of their restaurant and you can tell by the food and service. It was clean as a whistle, too. Great bathrooms.

We said we'd come back on our way back into Seattle but unfortunately couldn't make it work. Not being able to earn here again was my only regret on a fabulous trip.

I also got a mild (1 pepper) and could've definitely cranked up the heat. I eat a 2 at my local place and it is HOT so I wasn't sure and we still had a 3 hour drive 👀. If I get to go back I'd be comfortable...
