Greco's Pizza — Restaurant in Kentwood

We drove up to the GR area to shop and, afterward, did a quick search for pizza + chose Greco's based on proximity + good reviews.

ATMOSPHERE

We initially thought they were a full-service restaurant, but there are only 2 tables. Thankfully, we were able to dine in; otherwise, as out-of-towners, we would have had to pass on trying it out.

PIZZA

Delicious! Thinner NY-style crust that folds perfectly when you grab your slice + the marinara is more savory + garlicky than sweet for those who prefer a sweeter sauce.

Validating how legit this pizza is, the owners came in and were speaking fluent Italian as they showed their companions around.

SERVICE + SPECIALS

The staff was pleasant enough; however, they seem to be more accustomed to managing takeout + delivery orders than with providing table service for folx who dine in.

My only disappointment was that their special deals were not posted on the main menu; or, if we overlooked them, the staff did not point them out.

It was not until I went into the BATHROOM (well after we had placed our order) that I saw the list of specials posted, which is an odd place for them to be.

But, it also is an indicator to me that they may not get a lot of customers who dine in, given the size of the space, and that the younger staff lack the hospitality skills of trained waitstaff who provide table-side service, make recommendations + highlight daily specials.

Overall, we'd order from Greco's again but will definitely be sure to take advantage of those deals when we're in...

Ordered for pick up and spent a total of $56. We were told it'd be 30 minutes, arrived 15 minutes early, and expected to wait, in no rush. Except we waited 45 minutes instead of what should have been 15. They prioritized small orders and pizzas over ours, and even walk-ins who ordered while there, left 10 minutes later with a hot pizza. Whereas with us, they made half the order, stopped, worked on other orders and let ours go cold before finishing it. All we ordered was 2 pizzas and pepperoni rolls; this was no huge order, it was a regular, 4-people-who-want-pizza order. Yes, it is a Friday evening, but the way this was done was not only incorrect, this is not how orders are done, but it was disrespectful to us to have half our food cold because you made half the order then made a slew of other orders before finishing ours. Really good pizza, I haven’t ordered in awhile because I moved to Jenison. Tonight after working a 12 hour shift at the hospital, I wanted good pizza so I drove that direction to get it. The wait was 20-25 min so I had to wait when I got there because I ordered while driving. Very disappointed, was not worth my drive. I always order thin crust, I get there to find they made my pizza regular crust. The girl said we don’t have a note starting thin crust. I told her I asked for it. Every time I ordered in the past, it’s been thin crust. ( they didn’t even ask my name or phone number when I placed my order) so of course they missed I said thin crust.
