Birth Place of Pan Am — Restaurant in Key West

We visited a second time during the same week and they were out of two beers. How could that be, we asked the waiter. He didn't know - if he had been kept in the loop by management and could have said, for example, 'Sorry we're out of the Red due to supply chain issues.'. The hostess was no where to be seen when we entered the building. We waited a minute, then five, she finally appeared from the direction of the kitchen. I wasn't sure she was the hostess until she spoke because she did not have the restaurant logo on her shirt. The store is fun, bar and restaurant not so much, beer is at best a 3, nothing grabs as good or special. Food is lower than the beer, learn to make a good flat bread please, also the place across the street is so loud we couldn't have a conversation at our table. Staff is friendly but not very knowledgeable, I asked for a red beer I was given a IPA, than pretty much told I don't know beer, I about laughed in her face, I have more beer knowledgeable than every person in the restaurant including staff. I cooked professionally for years also, most of the menu is frozen GFS items at high prices, I heard the place just went up for sale, don't know how they lasted this...

Don’t go to Birth Place of Pan Am. The beer is okay, the food is poor and overpriced, and the service was below average. We had a couple of appetizers that came out fairly quickly but were not very flavorful - fair, but not “good.” Our entrees took FOREVER to come out, were not hot, and the pasta fettuccine was WAY overpriced - $37 for a small amount of pasta, a few pieces of fish, a few clams, with a bit of sauce - it seems like the food sat in the window for a while before coming out as it was pretty dry. There are so many good restaurants in Key West - this is not one of them. Go someplace else. ...
