An absolute 5/5 star experience the whole way around!
Not only was the service beyond friendly, but the atmosphere was very inviting. I don’t eat my food at the restaurants very often, preferring to take out, but eating here was a positive experience!
Now the food….your expectations will be far surpassed!! I tried the bison burger, fries, and bone in wings tossed in the Asian Zing sauce. All 3 items were MOUTHWATERING. The bison burger is #1 hands down in all of South Dakota, the fries are fresh and fried to perfection, and the wings had the BEST breading I’ve ever tasted on a wing before. Not only that, but the wings were very juicy, tossed with the perfect amount of sauce, and the Asian Zing had the perfect amount of spice.
How could I forget, the pickles! I’m not sure how this place could get any better, but I promise you that you won’t regret it asking for extra pickles on your burger! Crunchiest pickles I’ve ever had.
I’m not from around the area, but I had to go back a second time before leaving it was that amazing of an experience. I hope to...
Read moreThere were so many glowing reviews about this place, that we had to check it out. It did not disappoint! The food was obviously made fresh, yet still reasonably priced. The service was very very good. Choice to eat inside or out. Not too busy. Didn't take long to get our food even though we were a party of 6. Lots of locals eating there and treated very well by staff. We will come again next time we are around! Edit: true to our word, it's the "next time around" and we came back! We just couldn't stop thinking about how good it was and couldn't resist! Sure enough, it was just as good this time around, maybe even better! Once again, food came quickly, service was amazing! Met the owner this time around. He was so friendly and kind! We love their frosty mug tap 1919 root beer! The cheese balls are crispy and delicious! My husband said it was the best buffalo burger he has ever had! I'm sure I'll be adding another edit in future when...
Read moreNot on the boardwalk, just up the hill next to the Super 8 in the strip mall. Look for red signs with white print (a little tacky). Big food and tap beer selection for smaller place. Indoor and outdoor seating.
Locals eat here; there was an office party going on when I first visited. A lot of customers seem to know the owner.
No resort/tourism area pricing here. $5 craft pints. $8 to $12 sandwich combos with fresh cut fries and large soft drink. Regret buying a $12 sub at the Subway next door before I tried Halley’s West. The other Halley’s on the east side is primarily an antique store with a smaller food & beer selection.
Although the sandwich special combo of the day is good for added variety, you gotta try the pulled pork sandwich with burger patty if you like pulled pork and are hungry! If you’re into buffalo burgers, they serve them.
Give them a few minutes if there’s a line. They get it done quickly...
