I went here for the first time on 3/17/19. Very disappointed, considering all the positive reviews. I came here because it’s a family restaurant and I wanted to support the family with 3 young kids. But now not even that lovely photo will bring me back. Here’s why:
-Service was slow and forgetful. Yeah, we’re all human. But when I say “no tomatoes because I’m allergic”, that doesn’t mean you put tomatoes on the food. (That could easily be fixed if they actually wrote our order down.) They also forgot the corn tortillas that came with the dish, and I kept calling them over and they’d rush off to another table... it was just myself, my dad, and one other family in the entire restaurant. When the tortillas finally did arrive the container was impossible to open, and the server had to smash it on the table to get it open... spilling out the tortillas and causing a loud commotion.
-Restaurant and service was unclean. The table they gave us was grimy. They (the two waiters there) kept putting their fingers in our chips, guac, and sour cream. When the tortillas fell out of their container and onto the table, the waiter opening it grabbed them with his hands and put them back in. Really unappetizing.
-The food. Ugh. I ordered the pollo crema. It was good. But a few hours after I started feeling really sick. The beans were clearly pre-canned then heated up, and the rice was dry. The only flavorful, yummy thing that I felt good about consuming was the sparkling water. Also, as each $4 order of a small amount of guac was requested, even if it was half full the servers tried taking it away... and, you guessed it, dug their fingers into our guac. Disgusting.
Nevermind my own morals - like the flimsy and ugly straws or the styrofoam to-go containers; this place does not understand the word “cleanliness” or “decent service”. This restaurant needs some serious evaluation by the owner, and, by the K-Falls...
Read moreWe have dined at Sizzlin' downtown Buffet multiple times for the buffet lunch and one time for dinner on prime rib night for a birthday celebration. The ambiance, customer service, and food were all excellent, and everyone in our party was happy.
Review of our lunch dining experiences: Each time we entered the restaurant we were greeted enthusiastically by Elizabeth, the owner, or one of the employees. We were seated, provided with water as requested, and told to go ahead to the buffet. We were checked on throughout our meal.
The ambience has always been friendly and welcoming. Observing the body language and a snippet of conversation here and there, it was evident other diners who were there at the same time we were also enjoying their meals and received the same excellent customer service.
Our food each visit was well seasoned and enjoyable. The salad and fruit bars were well stocked - both are my favorite. A couple of times I couldn't have the soup of the day due to a food allergy or it was a soup I don't like and wouldn't eat anywhere else either, and I have eaten a variety of soups at this buffet. My favorite soups I've had here are the zuppa toscana and the beef vegetable the first week the buffet was open. My husband has enjoyed his food each time and the desserts.
The taco bar was really good too. The shells were made in-house and delicious. The taco fixings were tasty, and the meat was seasoned just right (for me).
We will return! Anyone who wants to try this buffet should try it themselves. Like any restaurant, there's issues to work out, and I've found the owners are open to constructive feedback and suggestions for...
Read moreI hope owner sees this review as a constructive criticism and works on enhancing their flavor of their food and the concept of the restaurant.
To start off, we decided to eat here because the Klamath Falls website recommended the place. I am not sure why the website and the title of the place is called “buffet” because it’s simply isn’t. THIS PLACE IS NOT A BUFFET. Period.
*It is primarily a Mexican restaurant with the option of a small selection of a salad bar and small selection of American dishes. *
The food lacks flavor and seasoning. The beans and rice taste like can food and the rice tasted like instant rice. It truly lacks the true flavor of a Mexican dish. Unfortunately we will not be eating here again or recommend travelers to visit here. Mostly because it was false advertisement by the city of Klamath and the owners of the restaurant by naming this place a “buffet”. IT IS NOT.
I would have given it one star but added the second just because the person that greet us (which I presume is the owner since she is in the front page of the restaurant menu) greet us with a great customer service.
Please add more options to your dish bar of different dishes so that one day it may be called an actual buffet, and work on enhancing the flavors of your dishes as all the food is tasteless and heartless.
There is no love in any of...
