Ok, so July is the busiest month of the year for Crater Lake, drawing thousands of people. You’d think, being that Klamath isn’t a particularly large town, and that it’s one of the closest to Crater Lake, that Wong’s would be prepared for the rush of customers, right? They weren’t even prepared for what I would consider an average or slow night; the restaurant was almost entirely full and there was ONE waitress. Bless her heart, she was amazing, but it was impossible to wait on that many tables at once. I came in for fried rice takeout 🥡 and she took my order right away, but then I sat for almost an hour and waited for it. In addition to slow service, the place simply was not clean. Everything behind the register and counter looked as though it hadn’t been touched in years, the booths and chairs were covered with a patina of old cooking oil. Worst of all, the drinking water was cloudy, and the glasses so dirty you could hardly see through them😣 (See photo). Bottom Line? I do not recommend Wong’s Café. Once I finally got the rice it was edible, hence the two ⭐️s instead of only one. Note: There is a great Mexican restaurant down the street I do recommend instead of...

The food was awesome. We're a vegetarian family and let our server know. She recommended some options to us. I had Vegetable Chow Mein. Even though the portion was large, I couldn't stop eating it to take some home! My husband had Lemon Tofu and that was the bomb.com. I tried a bite of it, and wow! The sauce is fabulous. My daughter had Vegetable Lo Mein. This was her 1st experience with Chinese food, and I think the complexity of the dish was a bit overwhelming for her. We've been trying to expand her flavor palate, but it's a challenge. She's a picky eayer. I ate her leftovers for lunch the next day. Tasted great. She liked the onion rings.

My only problem is that they were understaffed. That seems to be a common issue for many restaurants in town. Two servers were working, and they were hustling. There were a lot of take-out orders, and wait times were pretty long.

What I liked was they knew several take-out customers by name. That says to me that they have a lot of regular customers. With tasty food like that, I understand why people come back. I know...

What a step back in time!! And I mean this in the best way possible! It’s almost impossible to find the “old school” pork noodles anymore and how thrilled I was to find them at Wong’s Cafe! They came piping hot in the most delicious broth with ample amount of BBQ pork. And the half a hard boiled egg was topped with chopped green onion. BRAVO! It was like I was a kid again. And the sweet and sour chicken is golden crispy perfection with the perfectly balanced sweet and sour sauce. And don’t get me started on the fried rice! If you want gummy and sticky fried rice with those nasty frozen vegetables do NOT order it at Wong’s. What you’ll get at Wong’s is a wonderful blend of perfectly fried rice with a nice amount of spices. Not too salty - just right! The ambiance is not over the top - and reminiscent of the Chinese restaurants from the past. Again that’s a compliment! Please give Wong’s a try - it’s a small town gem.

Second time ordering take out from Wongs. Everything was very good except the Chicken Curry. It’s also the second time ordering the Curry Chicken. First time ordering the curry, it only had miniature scraps of chicken in it. Not nearly enough to even legitimately call it ‘Chicken’ Curry, it is more like Onion and Pepper Curry. I love curry and the taste was good and I figured they deserved a second chance. Unfortunately, it was exactly the same the second time. A disappointing pile of onions and peppers with a very few tiny pieces of chicken. Again, not nearly enough to honestly call this dish Chicken Curry. I called them (which I almost never do) and I told them they forgot to add chicken, her reply was ‘that’s how we do it’ That’s amazing. Calling a dish Chicken Curry and only having little traces of chicken is ‘how you do it’ ??? Well when I get ripped of like that… this is how I do it. That’s just pathetic.
