Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Kokomo

My father invited me to dinner on a Sunday night (tonight, to be exact) because my sister-in-law had given my dad gift cards for Applebee's for a belated Christmas gift. After waiting for more than 10 minutes and debating seating ourselves, we were finally greeted and I had informed the hostess that we would need non-bar seating. My dad then mentioned he would prefer a booth if possible. The hostess proceeded to seat us behind a large party (probably a 10-15 top). I asked her if we could sit elsewhere because it was very loud (as they were getting ready to leave) and there wasn't much room in for us to get in and out, and she moved us to the end of that section (which was fine). She took our drink order (2 waters) and told us that our server would be a few minutes because he had stepped out on break. She brought us back our drinks and as she got ready to set down my water, my napkin flew off the table and fell on the floor (where it remained for the rest of our dining experience). She told me she would bring me another one (which I never received). About 5 minutes went by, and our server arrived at our table to take our order. We ordered from the 2 for $25 menu and got salads as our appetizer, my father requesting Bleu Cheese dressing and myself asking for French with a side of Ranch (expecting, if anything, a normal sized French dressing and a smaller size cup of Ranch, and if not, two normal sized dressings). Our salads were brought to us, and my salad had two very small cups of dressing, while my father had a normal sized Bleu Cheese dressing. Around this time, my dad had also finished his water. I waited for a few minutes to see if our server would return to check on us, which he did not. By the time my father had received a refill on his water, I had decided to just deal with the two smaller sized dressings and had completely finished my salad (this was well over 15 minutes). We received our food, which was really good, the only reason I give this experience more than 1 star. Our server checked on us less than 5 times during our entire dinner, one of those was to take our food order and the other was to refill my dad's water. As a server, I understand when things get busy that you cannot check on your tables as much as you'd like. If that were the situation at hand, I would've been much more understanding. The restaurant was hardly busy, even with the large party (which left shortly after our food order was taken). There is a difference between an overwhelmed server and a bad server, and what we received tonight was flat out bad service. My friend and I stop by to have lunch. Our waitress got our drinks my friend ordered a chicken caesar salad and I order the Oriental chicken salad. My oriental chicken salad was made differently not the same as it's normally made with an Asian sauce. But it was still okay and I ate it. Okay so the place was clean and I noticed him cleaning off the tables with special sanitizer after each person left and everyone was wearing mask. But our waitress was extremely lazy on getting any kind of refill she would never come back to the table We had to get up and ask to get refills ,napkins, silverware and our check. And then she kindly came back and took the credit card and she pointed to the place where my friend needed to sign and then pointed to the place for her to leave a tip (IKR?) WHICH MY FRIEND PUT ZERO. Applebee's is definitely my favorite restaurant and has been for years perhaps it's just the one in Kokomo that doesn't make the oriental chicken salad the way it used to be or the recipe changed. But I liked it with the spicy sauce that they used to use. Sure I'll probably go back there and I'll probably have something else there's several things I love on the menu. But if the same waitress is there I will definitely ask to be seated elsewhere. I wish I could remember her name.

• 2 years later: MY son and I went there. Horrible. I sent my food back. Yellow broccoli ?? 2 scoops of potatoes, like an ice cream scoop, cold, cold steak. He had 5 onion rings with hos gross...

We had grace as a server, she is not a good server at all, first thing is when taking our drink order I asked if they had Mr pibb and she said no they have Dr Pepper products. So i said ok I will take Dr Pepper and then she said we don’t have Dr Pepper. I let it go and ordered. So we ordered the 2 for 25 and she came back one time to check if we needed drinks. So when the food was dropped off I told her I wanted a dessert order to go so it would be done by the time we was ready to leave. However the time came and went and we were done and checked the bill and it wasn’t even added. So obviously she never even ordered it. So we paid and left. Had to ask the hostess for a box and we never seen our server again. She is pretty rude and does not listen. The food was good, but the service was garbage. I don’t think I will be going back anytime soon. The menu has really shrank too, the choices they have are just not very appealing or sound good, and the options for the specials are very limited with not very good picks.
