Must be patient before dining here, it can take a while during lunch/dinner times. Apart from the long wait times, the food is delicious. From grilled chicken to the slaw dogs I've enjoyed everything from this establishment so far. The slaw dog sounded interesting and was my first pick from this place. It was tasty but the slaw made it a bit difficult to pick up the hot dog, making it soggy, buy with a fork and knife it was doable. The grilled chicken was juicier than the pork, it was my favorite from tonight. It almost melted mm! The sauce is light but flavorful and doesn't smother the meat's taste. The BBQ pork sandwhich was delicious as well, but it was chopped pork and not pulled pork like the description said, nonetheless I loved it. The catfish fillets, last I had it, was way too salty. I'm going to try to try the catfish on bones next time because I've heard it's much better. The fried chicken salad separates the chicken and salad in different containers (if you're ordering takeout) to avoid the chicken from getting soggy before getting home at least! Fries are okay, and get cold after the long wait times but were edible. Onion rings were delicious, light, crunchy, and not soggy or oily.

We stopped in for lunch on a Thursday afternoon at about 11:45am. The restaurant wasn’t crowded and seemed to be well staffed. Parking was not an issue either. Being that the restaurant is first a BBQ restaurant, we ordered chopped pork BBQ sandwiches with fries and green beans. The fries and green beans were good and hot. The BBQ was neither. At best the BBQ meat was warm, slightly above room temperature is probably a better description of it. Next, and worse than the temperature, the meat was absolutely swimming in a sauce that really had no taste to it. My first impression was that it was canned, but a waitress assured me they smoked their own meat. She should have blamed it on a can, it was that bad. The best way to describe it was sauce with meat, as opposed to meat with sauce. If I ever go back I won’t consider the chopped pork, which defeats the purpose of going to a BBQ restaurant.

Stopped in for our first visit since moving to this area a few weeks ago. I went for the chopped pork plate with baked beans, corn on the cob, and Brunswick stew. The pork comes pre-sauced, fyi. Not bad flavor either. The only addition available at the table is hot sauce and maybe a ketchup. Baked beans were pretty good as was the stew. Corn needs some work though; it tasted and looked like it had been sitting for a while. Sweet tea is good also. The local rumor is that the BBQ isn't cooked onsite. No idea if that is true or not. 🤷‍♂️ place is always busy though, so you know it's a local favorite. Will probably try the ribs next time.

First visit, and I am thoroughly disappointed. I only tried this place bc everyone I work with always talks abt it. First, while waiting in the drive through, a truck almost hit my car because of how small the parking lot is, but that is partially faulted on that driver for not paying full attention. Then, I ordered my food at 12:10pm.. the lady at the window was nice, (and that’s the only reason there’s even 1 star), and she gave me my drink and asked me to pull up and they’d bring my order out. I parked in a spot and waited literally 30min before I got through on the phone to see where my food was. I watched 7+ people walk in and come back out, and over 5-6 cars in the drive through after me get their food before I’d received mine. When I did try to call in, the line was busy, so I just kept trying until it rang. After 26x, it finally rang and the lady from the window answered. When I told her my order and how long I’d been waiting, she said she was sorry & said she thought the other girl had already gave me my food. I am super disappointed bc I wasted my entire hour of a lunch break only to be disappointed with being made to be late coming back to work. On top of that- I specifically asked for no coleslaw (bc I’m allergic to some ingredients) and when I did finally get my food, the coleslaw was sure enough in my plate, and juice from it was all over majority of the other food. I had to just throw away almost $17 of a bbq chicken plate bc I could not eat it. I will never go back here. The only good thing I will say, is that the lady at the window was nice, but there is nothing else that I can say positively. So...

REVISED REVIEW FROM 8-6-25: Came here over a year ago and when i opened the entry door, i was greeted with smokey smell of bbq ribs.. Not this time; This time i was greeted with no smell and that was odd but i still ordered half rack.. I wish i didn't..

The ribs were so bad, so hard and stuck to the bones that i had to scrape them off and after the 2nd one, i stopped.. Bones are larger than the meat on them, fried okra was cold and soggy but those ribs were the worst i've ever had in my 45 years!

The manager brought a second batch and they were the same, as if they came out of the same microwave oven..

Seriously, what happened to this place? It went from 5 stars to no stars..

ORIGINAL REVIEW FROM OVER A YEAR AGO: Everybody complains about something.. I was visiting from Homestead, FL and wanted ribs. I first went to Country's Barbecue but their ribs had to be cut off the bone, they were hard and were overcooked! BLEH!

Then i came here to Roger's and i'm glad i did. I've ordered half rack with 2 fish fillets, fries and green beans and the only thing i have to complain is why isn't Roger down here in south florida!!!

Ribs fell off the bone, were juicy and tasted like meat, not like beef jerky. The fries were tasty, my daughter ate all the fish, the beans were jummy and did i mention the meat fell off the bone? But the best part was that the bill for 4 people was cheaper than going to IHOP!

If i ever go through La Grange again, i'm...
