Pizza Ponte: Located in Disney Springs, Pizza Ponte is a quick service restaurant that offers Sicilian-style pizza by the slice, along with a selection of desserts, wines, and beers. Back home my favorite cheat meal is an extra cheesy slice of pizza and I wanted to have pizza at least once during my Disney World vacation. This was one of the last stops before my flight home and it kept me plenty full. I had a hard time choosing between the Four Cheese and the "Big Roman". The "Big Roman" would have made for a great review as it's the largest slice of pizza in Disney Springs (I couldn't find an actual measurement) and is the only triangular sliced pizza (the only way it should be in my opinion) at Pizza Ponte. Alas, I decided to pass it up because I was still relatively full from all the other delicious food on my trip and the Four Cheese, while not the largest piece, was still huge. The Four Cheese Pizza is cut in a rectangle and includes mozzarella, provolone, fontina, and parmesan cheese. there was plenty of flavor from the combination of four cheeses as well as grease. the crust was crispy, but not burnt. My ideal crust is thick and chewy, but for a thinner crust pizza this was impressive. I feel a little silly admitting this, but I didn't realize the pizza was sauceless until my final few bites. Something felt a bit off and as I was jotting some notes down for my review it finally hit me. In a way this is a good thing as it shows the pizza is not too dry without the sauce. I'm hoping the "Big Roman" is still available whenever I make it to Disney Springs again as I would still love to review it. For now, I can at least say Pizza Ponte's Four Cheese slice is Doughboy...
Read moreGood pizza restaurants are a dime a dozen, but finding a pizza place that is absolutely phenomenal to the point that you fall asleep dreaming about it, is like finding a needle in a haystack. Let me tell you I found the needle, and it has a name, Pizza Ponte.
I was recommended this restaurant by a dear friend who visits Disney springs frequently and was told to check it out. Upon walking in the staff was extremely friendly and they followed to their best abilities all safety procedures you can think. All the way from having different buckets for used and unused pens, to stickers in the floors that showed you where to stand to encourage social distancing.
I ended up ordering a full square cheese and mushroom pizza to. First of all the portion sizes are very big, and I ended up sharing the entire box with 7 people and we still had left overs. But more important than the portion size was the taste.
The pizza sauce itself tasted home made to the point where the sauce had a refreshing factor to it( this is huge for me since almost every red sauce gives me heartburn). Then the cheese was stretchy and delicious where every bite left you dreaming of the next one. But what really drove it home for me was the crust! I know it sounds ridiculous but hear me out.
Every bite was crunchy yet fluffy at the same time(I know weird, but true). It's hard to explain it but it almost felt like there was layers to this pizza where you are entranced in two different mouth feels at the same time with every bite and your taste buds are in this rollercoaster of flavors. Overall incredible.
If you are in the area please stop reading this and go eat here. You will never look at a pizza the...
Read moreI walked all the way over to Pizza Ponte to give another business a try that wasn’t Blaze. I just really wanted good pizza. Service is not what you’d expect from a place representing Disney. I walked in and 3 of the men behind the glass kept on with their conversation, not acknowledging me, I’m the only person in line. I make eye contact with all of them, again, no greeting. Eventually, one of them points at me to another so they can finally ask what I’d like. I say a Funghi, no response, he takes it and puts it in the oven for 1-2 minutes, says to wait “over that way” pointing towards the register. Everyone infront of me had their pizza, so I’m just awkwardly standing in front of the beverages, I felt like a nuisance. I finally get my pizza and walk to the cashiers, no greeting from either of them. This lady asks me what pizza I got, again, attitude as if I’m inconveniencing their lives. I asked if they had ID discounts, she said “not after 4.” Ok… Ofcourse not. I go to pay. Their reader immediately asks for a tip, no “no, thanks.” option just “other”. So I click the X button, pay $9 for a slice of pizza, walk out, and in 5 minutes being in the box, it’s already a soggy mush at the bottom. Flavor was good but there are way too many places to eat at springs that won’t treat customers this way. No care from 5 people is crazy. So, for...
