My daughter's favorite lunch is her school's turkey + gravy....and for this reason, she might be a fan of the Daily Poutine's poutine, but I am not. I was dying to try this place ever since I heard it came to Disney Springs as I love Poutine. I've even soaked my fries from the buffet at Cabanas while on the Disney Cruise with gravy to recreate Poutine in my own way. The service was quick and the fries hot, but to label yourself as a Poutine specialty spot (quick-service or otherwise), you better be darn sure you serve a legendary Poutine. The fries were large, hot, and unseasoned. Not much of a wow factor. The gravy, like a public school lunch's, has the obvious taste of canned/jarred - which I have no doubt it is since they don't have a visible kitchen. I don't expect gravy from scratch, but I do expect better flavoring and a claim to fame. It wasn't watery yet the flavor seemed diluted - truly not as flavorful as I would have expected. And the cheese curds were scarce and very much rubber balls with little flavor as well. Another topping, a meat, would have been desirable. This will not be a food destination at Disney we'll return to. And I'd hate to hear what MidWestern folks (and Canadians) say when they try this place!
It's $10 for this rubbish and in comparison, $10 for the AMAZING Poutine at Le Cellier Restaurant located in...
Read moreI was really looking forward to trying The Daily Poutine, but left feeling a bit disappointed.
1- The line was surprisingly long and slow moving for how small the menu is. 2- I ordered the New Delhi poutine but was accidentally given a different menu item. No biggie- that happens. They tended to the mix-up quickly and graciously. However, they took back the partially-eaten item and, presumably, threw it out. (Usually, when that happens in a restaurant, the customer keeps the mix-up so it doesn't go to waste.) 3- When I received the New Delhi order, I expected to see chunks of chicken in it, but they were nearly indiscernible. There were teeny tiny squares of something in the gravy, so I'm hoping that was chicken. It makes sense to cut the pieces small enough to eat some with each bite, but they were so small I wasn't sure if the gravy had run out of chicken or if that was the way it was always served. 4- They nailed the Indian flavor of the gravy but, overall, the dish was salty and left my family feeling underwhelmed. Maybe the other menu...
Read moreI used to come here all the time. I always got fries with a side of queso and cheese curds. I've never gotten anything else. They've always been able to do it for me until the last few times. I would say, my last 4 trips have been completely awful. I'd stayed away for about a year. I decided to go back today and try again. When I asked for my order i asked for fries, a side of quseo , and a of side cheese curds the girl looked like she had never heard anything like that before in her life and that she didn't know how to do it. The other girl behind the counter. Rolled her eyes at me. So we walked away as I was walking away, they were yelling something at us, but I couldn't quite hear what it was after the fourth time of being told. No, they couldn't do this, knowing I used to get this all the time. It was kind of disheartening, but mostly because of the way they looked at me in the roll of the eyes. I will not be returning to this cart and honestly probably not to disney Springs, it has not been a pleasurable experience for...
