Michaels — Local services in Lake Charles

We went to a try me day at the store, and it's great. A great way to do a craft with your kids and we love that it's free, but since it was our first time going, I didn't know where it was being held. There were NO signs, and no arrows to pin people in the right direction and there were no employees on the floor to assist. We had to go wait in line to ask the cashier's and they didn't even fully understand what we were looking for or that the store was offering this. Better communication between employees & the store needs to inform employees & encourage them to be knowledgeable of what is going on. The idea of this is GREAT!! & The lady who helped and was in charge of the crafts was great! Sweet & kind with the kids, talkative, and great creative ideas! The stores need signs outside and better advertisement to inform parents. Also sending flyers to local schools of a calendar of events could help spread...

Never had a issue with the store before 3/3 at 12:36 pm I returned some hot glue sticks that were to big for my gun yeh cashier told me that she couldn't take them back because they were opened I told her that's the only way I knew that they were too big she said most people look at them and tell I told her they looked the same size to me she called the manager and she gave me the refund after she defused the situation the cashier told me for next time I need to know the return policy and I told her it wasn't on the receipt and they didn't state that when I purchased it she said met time I need to go online and read with the policy is in a rude way thinking if the manager didn't make a big deal about a 6 dollar purchase why was she so mad about the refund I think her name was Pam or Pat the manager wasn't...

As far as craft stores go in Lake Charles this one is my favorite. The variety is great though a little smaller than the other popular chain stores. The store is always neat and has great sales. The Michaels app is awesome and always offers a great 40 percent off coupon. Where they really shine as opposed to others in the area is their service. The staff has always gone above and beyond whenever I've had a question or am in need of a location of a product. For that reason and their always friendly and polite attitudes they will always keep me as a loyal customer. Hobby Lobby employees on the other hand seem to always be rude and can't wait to end any interaction with a customer. Michaels employees make Hob Lob employees look terrible in comparison.
