I totally understand the "employee shortage" in Las Cruces food industry.
Our latest experience: We originally had gone to the El Paseo location just because my husband had been wanting to try your "famous fries". We drive up to place the order, to be told that their system was down. Ok, no problem hope y'all get it back up and running! Have a better day! So we drove off & proceeded to a second location, Walton Blvd location. We hadn't even drove into the parking lot yet when we noticed a line of car's at the drive thru. My husband decided to park and go in to place the order of just French fries. We walk in, there was already two gentleman at the register waiting to be tended to. We all stood there without being acknowledged for about a good 15 minutes!! There must of been about 4-5 employees behind that counter near the fryer all trying to put their heads together to get one order going out. ALL of those employees handled the same food being put in two separate paper bag's WITHOUT gloves on!! One female returns to the drive thru window to handle a transaction. Another female employee calls out a name for an in person pick up order ((it was the order they all handled, WITHOUT gloves on)). I made a comment to my husband about how disgusting and unsanitary that was. By this time the two gentleman waiting at register looked at each other mumbling something and walked off. I asked them if they had been tended to or had even been acknowledge that they had been there waiting for so long, they both replied saying NO!! So they walked out.... As they walk out, the second female goes to register and just stood there with a blank stare. I tell her HI!! How's it going? Are you ok? She responds with "what can I get you"? I'm like, can I just get an order of your large fries, please! She gave me my total, I paid with cash. As she is handing back my change, I kindly asked her if before handling my food if she could at least put some gloves on? She acted as if she did not hear me, so I repeated myself at least 3 times and I asked her, excuse me ma'am, are you ok? She asked for my name for my order & handed me my receipt. And proceeded on to the next people in line. After like 10 minutes of watching my French fries get handled by 4 different employees WITHOUT gloves on. The female at the register finally grabs a paper bag and had one of the four employees standing at the fryer grab my fries and place it inside bag. She then returns to counter and tells me "I didn't touch your fries, that guy did" 🤦🏻♀ I responded with, "yeah I know, I stood there and watched the entire thing". 🤮 Mind you not, that this females fingers were very dry, cracked, chaffed, she had open split cuts on her fingers. I grabbed my bag of $3.49 French fries and tossed them in the trash!
Now I can only imagine what WE DON'T SEE!!
There's one thing to be short staffed, but there should be no excuse for laziness and being disgusting and unsanitary in the...
Read moreIt began with a massive wait despite there not actually being many customers. I gave them the name for my mobile app order, and they took the order without any comment. It wasn't until around 5-7 minutes later, when I actually reached the pickup window, that they claimed to no longer carry pretzel buns, despite the app still letting me order a sandwich with that bun. The didn't let me know when I have them my order, no, it was after I had already been made to wait. They informed me that pretty much my only option was to take a substitute for a regular bun or cancel the entire order. I was mildly irritated by this development, but I try to be understanding, as these things do happen. However, I did politely suggest that they provide at least some form of compensation or restitution for the inferior sandwich. This was flatly refused. I was by this point fairly irritated, but I remained polite and wouldn't have written this review had it not been for the fact that when I got to my apartment and inspected my meal, I discovered that on top of the worse-than-what-I-paid-for sandwich, they straight up stiffed me a chicken nugget (I only got 5 instead of the 6 I ordered) AND didn't give me the dipping sauce for it. That was enough to make me genuinely mad. I am not normally one to complain about these sorts of things taken individually, but frankly the combination of all of the problems made this a genuinely bad experience. I will not be returning to this location, and my trust in Wendy's as a whole has been...
Read moreI am loath to give a horrible review but this Wendy's is horrible. Don't get me wrong, the food is what is expected from a fastfood restaurant. Dave set up his menu so it is hard to get it wrong in the production thereof; it's the atmosphere of the place. The men's bathroom smells like death itself. I asked for a cup of water and it tasted like the bathroom (I didn't use it before I drank). Everytime I enter the place the air conditioner goes on and we are in the middle of a cold blast (February 6, 2022) and 32 degrees is frigid here in Las Cruces, New Mexico. I asked the employees (all standing around the cash register talking) why the air was coming on at this time (approximately 6:30 pm). I was told they have "no control over that." That's all fine and well;it was the mischievous looks that spooked me. It's almost as if someone or something wants to destroy this business. Oh yes, both the soft drink dispensers were out of order and the comfortable seating next to the animated fire place still had the spill that I observed a really dirty homeless person spill along with some extra trash. Can you say...
