SPOILED MEAT! I learned of this restaurant from TikTok. I made reservations for my husband's birthday. The atmosphere was okay, but nothing to shout about, pretty regular, dark and dim. The service was fast, but the waiter gave us an appetizer that we didn't ask for, but my husband decided to keep it. We were supposed to receive a bread basket upon arrival. Another couple came in and the waiter immediately took them a bread basket, then looks at me and brings their bread basket to us, but he'd already gave us our appetizers and we had been there about 20 mins. He never intended to bring us a bread basket, which is why he gave us the garlic bread appetizer that was a charge that we didn't order. I guess we were to pay for a bread basket, and the other couple next to us was not. The food. I will never go again or recommend this restaurant. I ordered the lasagna, and it was spoiled. I kept telling my husband that it taste weird, but he kept saying maybe it was the way they prepared it and plus it was his birthday, let's just enjoy. So, I tried to just eat it. After a few more bites, I was done with it and told the waiter to pack the leftovers. When I got the lasagna home, I tried it again, and for sure, the meat was spoiled. They added a lot of salt to mask the taste, but it did not help. It just made it very salty. I am a cook, so I know spoiled meat when I taste it. Plus, I have eaten pasta and meat dishes all over the world, and spoiled meat is universal in taste. My husband's dish was sub-par due to the excessive oil in the homemade fettuccine alfredo. A trained chef knows to drain the oil in order to make the dish palpable and not greasy. He didn't finish it, because of the excessive amount of oil. My husband preferred not to complain, he just wanted a quiet evening for his bday.. They are not personable. I stated it was my husband's birthday on the reservations, and instead of a slice of cake or something to a knowledge his special day, we got nothing. I would have paid for whatever, but it was very disappointing. Not to mention, our bill was almost $70. They need Gordon Ramsey and a class on how to treat all their customers equally. I will be adding this to the curculating TikTok...
Read moreWe had been going there for quite a few years. NEVER EVER again! My husband got FOOD POISONING, and threw up and had diarrhea for days. He is still recovering. Last time we were there the service was so slow it was ridiculous. The waiter Larry , was taking orders in running food orders out while we were sitting there waiting to pay our check. Wound we’re not the only ones that we’re waiting to pay the bill either. This woman and I looked at each other and rolled her eyes because she was standing there trying to pay her bill forever and ever. and so we finally went up to the counter and paid and left no tip because the service was just playing horrible. We sat and waited and watched this waiter take orders it seemed as slow as possible....My food was terrible I had the Chicken Marsala, it was so incredibly salty I could not eat it. I was not offered an alternative so shared a small a small amount ( Thank God)! with my husband.who ordered Spaghetti and Scallops. Almost to the letter this is what happened to us about two months ago, that time I gave the waiter benefit of the doubt, thinking that he just didn’t know how to be a waiter.goid waiter yet. I also ordered a salad for him Romain lettuce but it arrived with mixed greens The soup, Pasta Fagoli, was watery and runny, this was not the way it had been in the past whatsoever. It was a thick bean soup which we had liked when we first started going there . This time we took the leftovers home and I tasted the soup again and it was really , really terrible. At the time in the restaurant and it was dark and I couldn’t see very much of it my husband went to the bathroom which is an extremely small bathroom and said it was less than desirable regarding the cleanliness. He even took a picture and we both laughed because there were two plungers sitting right next to the toilet. It’s a shame because a place like this used to be great but it went downhill fast and further down fast. I’m sure they’ll still be in business but I can assure you we will never ever go there again. Oh yeah, I got to pay for that chicken marsala because when we paid the bill wouldn’t care we just want to get out, get the hell...
Read moreMade a decision to eat here based on the “mobsters” used to eat here. Bit late, 9:30pm, but it’s Vegas right? Call on the way over as we were going to be 5 minutes late, guy who answered said he’d tell the kitchen to stop breaking down. Bad sign.
We arrive to a small house on a side street. You’d probably drive by and not notice it if you weren’t looking. All part of the experience, made it seem “cooler”.
Either front door was locked or I suck at working door knobs. I’ll go with the latter being most likely. We were welcomed by the host/waiter. Quiet guy. Nice interior. 6 tables in the front, maybe another 6 in the back.
I order the penne with meat sauce and sausage and my brother the chicken parm with a side of linguine in Alfredo. . Some garlic bread with cheese to start along with the garden salad that came with the meal.
I need to stop here and describe the service because I don’t want to harp on it. He was efficient. But seemingly put out by us eating so late. Another table came in with us and there was two more already there. Don’t read it as unfriendly but more disinterested. It was almost comical. But our drinks kept getting refilled and everything was served in a timely manner. Although not correctly. I ordered a salad with garlic dressing and got Italian. I ordered pasta with sausage and got meatballs.
Down to the food.
Garlic bread was tasty.
Salad was meh. I don’t mind Italian dressing but the lettuce seemed soggy. Was accented by one miniature baby carrot that tasted like it just came out of a bag. Made think of Gordon Ramsey losing his mind.
My penne was excellent. I’d say authentic if I was Italian and had a nonna. But I don’t so it was really good.
The chicken parm was ... okay. Bland. But okay. The linguine was over cooked and the sauce not very good.
To be honest I’d give it another shot. We did come late so maybe the food quality wasn’t at its best? My advice to the restaurant is if you want to close at 8, then close at 8. Also, just care a little bit more about your food. There is potential here. I see some things from 2002, Zagats, “best of Las Vegas” etc. Return...
