Whenever in Vegas my friends and I usually stick to the strip and "New Vegas" .... we know & understand that service isn't usually top notch in Vegas, and often times Service Staff members can be rude or behave in condescending manner. This time though it was so out of line that I felt like writing a review. I never even had a chance to walk into this bar and this was our experience with Commonwealth: It was 2:30am this past Saturday night/Sunday morning and we we were about to walk into this bar to meet a friend who was in there. As we approached the door, a man wearing a black security shirt basically gave us the stiff arm saying "we're closed." Anyone who goes to Vegas knows that bars usually stay open until 3-4am, so I sarcastically asked aloud (as we were walking away) "What City is this again?!" ...it was clearly a joke and everyone 'got it' , and nothing more need to be said. This clown security guy decides to interject and ask aloud "WHATS THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN??" ... and at this point we were standing away from the entrance and having our own group conversation about where we were going to go next. He was being totally ignored and we weren't looking for any type of confrontation. Then... again, he interjects even louder this time and re-asks his same stupid question with a tone like he was ready for a fight. I looked square at him and said "Who are you talking to?" and he said "YOU" ... as we all smiled and turned away + proceeded to take our business elsewhere... I told myself I would repay his gestures by letting the public know that this is the type of service and treatment you will get at Commonwealth. Keep in mind we were all dressed very nice (as opposed to the majority of other patrons in the area), and it was clear we were going to be spending a lot of $$$ because the bar wasn't actually closed. Clown security guard you need to keep your mouth shut next time. Nobody was arguing with you or trying to get in, and nobody cared when you asked what the sarcasm was supposed to mean. At that point you can turn around and go back to your miserable tasks of being a security guard at a lowscale bar...
Read moreI got married in Vegas in 2019. My husband and I tried to take our entire wedding party here beforehand. The staff was sooooooo rude and refused to let us in because one person was wearing sandals. The bouncer looked me up and down with a look of disgust when I said we were celebrating our marriage?? He even asked me why I was there. Like, to drink obviously? I still have no idea what he was insinuating, it was bizarre.
I will literally never forget it and it happened years ago. It marred one of the most special times of my life. My friend who was wearing the sandals felt terrible because it was such a horrible, unexpected and awkward encounter and apologized all night, even though it was not even remotely her fault! I still can’t understand it and had to see if this place was still open because like I said, I’ll never be able to forget how we were treated that day. Sad to see it is, and they’re still employing people who not nobody wants to be around. We went over to The Griffin instead and had great service and drinks! Vegas as a whole is a town with excellent service, don’t waste your time here, and definitely not if you want to make happy memories with people you love! Be nice to yourself and them — go LITERALLY...
Read moreAs a Vegas local, I am not happy with their security staff whatsoever. Drinks were decent and fairly priced. Yet the security guards were rude! After reading their yelp reviews from the last 6 months or so it seems many will agree. My friend and I were carded at the door, security (he said his name was Brandon) let my friend in and as I proceeded to walk in he shoves me. Not hard but I felt very disrespected. He said he wasn't done yet and I needed to wait. Yet he handed me back my ID and let my friend in? The manager was involved and asked what I wanted out of it and I said simply an apology. The security guard apologized but than seconds later took it back saying well we can check cameras because I never touched you! Not sure what he thought I was insinuating I guess sexual harassment which wasn't what I said.
We proceeded with the night. When we left he was still at the door and called me a b**ch. How rude and unprofessional. How dare you. He said he could've lost his job for my accusations and he checked cameras and he never grabbed my chest. Which isn't what I said.
Brandon shame on you! And shame on management for allowing their staff to disrespect a woman like that. He was about 6'3 and I'm 5'4....
